SEAT has released its first ever super automaton, the Leon FR+ Supercopa.
Now, what looks like a jazzy new body kit
to you and I is actually the result of a radiation extent in a region of Spanish countryside.
This actually used to be a humble e [unk] commercial model.
It really did.
However, its superpowers are as yet unknown, or SEAT knows is it rocks up at the factory in a giant carbon fiber cradle curled up in a blanket with lots of tiny little SEAT logos on it.
So, they fussed us to find out exactly what superpowers it has.
Let's get testing.
So, is the Supercopa, like the Incredible Hulk, super strong?
To test this, I'm gonna try push it away, a sort of battle of wills.
Let's find out.
And-- Yes.
It is.
As long as the hand brake's on.
Otherwise, get a friend and don't try and push it up a hill.
In a typical British summertime, it's ideal to have the superpower of Storm from the X-Men.
She could change weather.
So, can our Supercopa make it less drizzly and cold, and more into a balmy summer's day?
Sun, come on.
We could have like a nice time together.
We could drive our nice dry road, decent corners.
Get quickly within the national speed limit, of course.
And sun, sun.
No drizzle.
Sun.
No.
It can't change the weather.
Nightcrawler from the X-Men can instantly teleport from place to place.
So, can the Leon?
Ready?
It works.
Brilliant.
Supercopa, take me elsewhere.
Can it, like Sue Storm-- the invisible girl, and Jessica Alba look-a-like-- go invisible and whatnot?
Let's find out.
Yes.
But only with lots of post-production.
Lots.
Lots.
Actually, yes.
Well, kind of.
You see, the FR+ Range comes with two engines.
A 211 brake horsepower petrol
straight out to the Golf GTI and a near as 870 brake horsepower diesel add to the Golf GTV.
So, what you get is a blisteringly fast car that, in this case, looks a lot better than the Golf.
That said, so does a hangnail.
Thing is, the 170 brake horsepower in diesel we have here is good for the 0-62 run in 8.2 seconds and [unk] 133 miles an hour.
But-- I hear you say.
"That's not fast at all." Well, on paper, you're right.
However, once you
actually get in the thing, and stick your boot down, oh, it's quick.
It's really, really quick.
You see, FR+ Leons are the best-performing SEATs you can buy.
Yes.
The Leon Cupra R has more power and is faster, but this has far more balance, and it's more controllable.
It's actually the perfect mix of chassis ground.
Also, a vaguely superpower note is the fact that its power and talk are delivered through the front wheels and they don't spit the car off the road.
And that's all down to a trick electronic
XDS differential.
It essentially uses electricity-- and well, magic-- to keep you stuck to the road.
It's pretty impressive.
So, on the speed front, it pretty much whoops The Flash.
The Flash, in fact, can suck it.
And also, as in as Red Spandex is this season, we much prefer the look of the Supercopa.
It's more threatening.
It's angry.
She's an angry car.
We like angry cars.
We like them-- of course, love, actually.
Anyway,
before we finish on a fade to a comic book-style in the end panel, we have one more challenge for Leon Supercopa.
