CES 2014: Samsung's bendable TV at CES 2014

1:08 /

Can't decide between a curved TV or a flat one? Samsung has both covered with its new bendable display.

Hi, I'm David Katzmaier from CNET and I'm standing in front of a TV that can be either curved or flat. Let's say you've heard about these new curve televisions, you don't quite know whether you really want one. Well, this TV can be both. You can flatten it or at the press of a button, it can actually bend out and become a curve television. The idea of course is that you can change it depending on your preference or maybe even depending on what content you want to watch. It's more of a technology demonstration. Of course this TV isn't going on sale anytime soon. A couple of HP technology points, I originally thought this TV was an all out display, it actually is an LED LCD. So, this actually bends the entire LCD screen, of course the plastic behind it bends as well, just a push of a button right here on our remote control. This is an 85 inch TV with four K resolution of course but the real benefit here is the fact you can change it from a curve TV to a flat TV and back anytime you want. That's a quick look at Samsung's 85 inch bendable television here at CES 2014, the first of its kind that I've ever seen. I'm David Katzmaier for CNET.
