First Look: Samsung Omnia HD

1:01 /

The Samsung Omnia HD, first seen at GSMA 2009, is a touch-screen phone with a huge and vibrant screen, virtual keyboard, and 3D interface.

[ music ] ^M00:00:08 >> Hi, I'm Kent German, senior editor at CNET.com, and here at the GSNA World Conference in Barcelona. This is the Samsung Omnia HD. The biggest things I want to show you about this device is the screen. Really has a huge screen that's really bright, really colorful, very vibrant, and looks really nice. It does play HD video. It does have Samsung's touch wiz interface, you can see the icons all there on the side. It's very similar to the touch wizard seen on other phones in the US. Also this is a 3D interface, and what you can do is you can slide that over like that, kind of looks like the corner of a room, there's a little bit of effect going on. It is a totally touch screen device, so there is no keyboard, no keypad. You can see some controls down here, there's a talk and an end power key. It has a virtual keyboard, it is an eight megapixel camera as well, you can see the lens right there, there is a flash. Also has Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, most of the email features you need, but really centers on that multimedia. [ background music ] I'm Kent German, and this is the Samsung Omnia HD. [ music ]
