S+ by ResMed: A wireless tracker that looks to improve your sleep
[MUSIC]
There are sleep trackers that you wear on your wrist and ones that you hide under your mattress.
But now there's finally one that's completely wireless.
I'm Dan Graziano and I'm here with the S+ by ResMed.
There are no straps or pads.
Instead, this little device uses wireless sensors to monitor your breathing and heart rate while you sleep.
It connects with your Android and iOS device to give you detailed information about the amount of time you are awake.
Your REM, deep, and light sleep cycles, and the amount of disruptions that you had in the middle of the night.
Each morning you'll be greeted with a sleep score that rates your previous night's sleep.
Throughout the day the S plus will send you notifications with sleep facts and tips how, about how to improve your sleep.
For example, after taking 35 minutes to fall asleep one night, the S Plus recommended that I take a hot shower or bath an hour and a half before bed.
Unfortunately, no matter how smart this think is, it still has to be manually turned into sleep mode each night.
When it's time to go to bed, you fill out a quick survey from your day.
Did you work out?
How many alcoholic drinks did you have?
What was your stress level?
And if you had any caffeinated drinks.
You can set a smart alarm to gently wake you up during a specific window in the morning.
And there's a relaxes sleep mode that will synchronize relaxing sounds like the ocean or the forest to your breathing.
While this is supposed to help you fall asleep, I found it rather distracting and I rarely used it.
My mind is always all over the place when I try to sleep at night.
The S plus hopes to fix this with a feature called mind clear.
This allows you to type or speak voice memos to help you clear your mind before bed.
These memos will then be waiting for you in the morning.
I like the S plus.
I wish it had automatic sleep tracking, and it's a little pricy.
About $150.00 in the U.S..
While I didn't see any improvements with my sleep at night, I enjoyed the daily feedback.
And the sleep tracking appeared after it.
