Road testing the Nike+ FuelBand and the Fitbit Ultra
So what I'm gonna do today as compared the setup of the Nike fuel and the fitness and now in keeping with the spirit of our show I thought -- -- problem isn't the extreme that nothing -- -- testing is about things.
And so against my better judgment I decided to train for a -- them.
And I found myself you've -- and -- marathon in one country here in northern California. On August 12.
2012.
I want -- -- and so he wanted.
Anyway let's start with a deal that lets see how I go about registering downloading apps and getting -- all about.
--
-- my first appears to down -- the desktop software.
And it's Mac compatible. Manner -- wish that this issue would night.
-- then there's firmware updates of course there are. Definitely not ache with Monica at monument FaceBook.
-- -- the -- that takes over the world but I like.
Buttons and mounting -- -- -- -- now.
Protect them successfully locked and I have done nothing don't know what I'm like how quicker than --
Okay I gotta go look at the have a little -- to me on -- professional and I think flattening.
Now I'm going to think my fuel band with the iPhone --
Announced surface -- Found last.
We have that that it ultra and how good more software. Download.
School went on strike against it that now there's an interest.
It'll say right okay I like -- --
So I am going to installed it after.
On my iPhone I do like that with -- fitness app I can track all my activity and answer my food because I was a big fan of the month and -- -- asked.
-- --
Electrical animation. Fifty admin data aren't fit it's cool.
Seriously it is making me sweat just trying to like do all the registration and the software installations in the firmware upgrades this -- on the web but.
Or just on my phone and it should not be this hard and no one ever gonna have to -- -- again but oh my god I -- set up.
So one thing you don't like I know I can use the cable but it's obviously easier to plug the Nike fuel and directly in like -- but then it's just a little thing.
That it pushes on the delete button.
Although it's not nearly as clunky as trying to pull -- -- off this thing without feeling like you actually.
The story. That's not my field band on a minute clip on -- if -- bit.
It is now time to exercise which -- the.
Okay I'm starting my half marathon training to their have to do three miles I have my -- field and and my fitness.
-- I got my three miles I'm gonna sink at the end and see what's what makes me feel better about all this hard work.
-- -- -- --
--
-- -- -- -- -- -- --
I think it.
Minnesota --
Just take the -- -- -- my faith and that's very much protein.
-- hit that magical little.
-- I've been comparing the Nike feel bad and the fit that ultra for about a month now and I am ready to declare a winner.
First I'm gonna compare and contrast -- back.
I will say that as a motivational devices if you're looking to get off the -- -- improve your kind of overall fitness.
Both of them really work.
They make you wanna do Martin act has signed up for a half marathon so that I can test them appropriately and have up to eight -- which I feel pretty good.
Right let's start with the -- -- -- tasks for one thing it's very unobtrusive you can see it's really small it clips on snug so it never falls off and wherever it is.
You -- don't feel it.
You can collect still much information with the -- it.
And then it spits out these beautiful charts.
So you really get this awesome narcissistic picture of how much you're working out.
The downside though is that if you get a little -- fed up with all that data collection.
Then this becomes sort of next clip on paper weight.
Also the clip on factor.
A bit of a downside because it's really easy to forget about that had a problem where I've changed out of my street clothes into my gym clothes and left this -- -- much.
But the biggest downside of the ticket for me is that it does not sync wirelessly you actually have to plug it into a base station which just feels totally your early 2000.
-- pros and cons.
The Nike -- man I gotta say the biggest pro and this thing is the simple convenient and it's so unobtrusive so easy to -- that I -- I'll never forget to put this guy on.
And LED displays are kind of futuristic.
The other thing I love is -- game of the patient.
Every time I did it all whore -- history going door to.
Hi Steve my goal by a certain amount I get this adorable little animation that's -- seems smaller.
But it really works and it makes this a lot of fun and the other plus is that this -- wirelessly with the IOS -- I don't know why it's.
Right downsides to kill them purchase it is expensive and 150 dollars and then finally the fuel and as part of this whole Nike family of products and they don't talk to each other.
Like this can't talk to issue alive and it can't talk to the -- GPS running --
But those are all the cons I can think -- so.
When it comes down to declaring a winner in this -- test for me.
