Apple is the world's most valuable brand, HP offers data services, and the PlayStation Network is still down.

IT'S MONDAY, MAY 9. I'M JEFF BAKALAR, AND IT'S TIME TO GET LOADED. THE ONGOING PLAYSTATION NETWORK OUTAGE CONTINUES, AND NOW SONY IS GIVING WORD THAT IT'LL NEED TO KEEP TESTING ITS SERVICE BEFORE ALL IS RESTORED. THIS COMES OFF OF REPORTS LAST WEEK THAT SOME SERVICES WOULD BE UP AND RUNNING. WITH EACH DAY GAMERS BECOME EVEN MORE UNRULY, AND NOW WITH NEWS OF A THIRD ATTACK PLANNED AGAINST THEM, SONY SURELY HAS ITS HANDS FULL. SOME SAY PSN WON'T BE BACK UP FULLY UNTIL THE END OF MAY. ACCORDING TO A NEW SURVEY CONDUCTED BY BRANDZ, APPLE IS NOW THE MOST VALUABLE BRAND IN THE WORLD, SURPASSING GOOGLE. VALUED AT AN APPROXIMATE 153 BILLION, THE COMPANY TOPS NAMES LIKE COCA-COLA, BMW, AND DISNEY. IN TERMS OF RETAIL, AMAZON BECAME THE WORLD'S MOST VALUABLE STOREFRONT BRAND EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T HAVE A SINGLE ACTUAL STORE. POPULAR MAGAZINES LIKE GQ, THE NEW YORKER, AND WIRED ARE COMING TO THE IPAD. CONDE NAST, THE PUBLISHER OF ALL THREE PROPERTIES ANNOUNCED THAT IT WILL BEGIN SELLING DIGITAL SUBSCRIPTIONS THROUGH THE APP STORE FOR AROUND 7 MAGAZINES. HEARST, PUBLISHER OF ESQUIRE AND POPULAR MECHANICS SAID THEIR MAGAZINES WILL GO ON SALE IN JULY. NO EXACT PRICING IS PLANNED YET, BUT SINGLE ISSUES WILL GO FOR CHEAPER ON THE IPAD AND SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE RUMORED TO GO FOR AROUND $20 A YEAR. HP IS JUMPING INTO THE MOBILE DATA SERVICE MARKET WITH A 3G CONNECTION THE COMPANY IS CALLING DATAPASS. THE SERVICE WILL ALLOW 3G-POWER HP LAPTOPS TO CONNECT TO SPRINT'S EVDO NETWORK WITHOUT ANY CONTRACTS. THE PLANS START AT $5 FOR 75MB OVER A 7 HOUR PERIOD. IN OTHER HP NEWS, THE COMPANY HAS RELEASED A SLEW OF NEW LAPTOPS THAT FEATURE INTEL'S NEW SANDY BRIDGE CHIPS. FIRST IS THE NEW MAINSTREAM 14-INCH PAVILION DV4, WHICH FEATURES AN IMPRINT FINISH AND COOLSENSE TECHNOLOGY. NEXT, AN UPDATED MINI 210 ADDS AN EDGE-TO-EDGE 10.1-INCH DISPLAY, 8.8 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE AND SEAMLESS TOUCHPAD. FINALLY, THE HIGH-END ENVY 14 GETS A REFRESH WITH USB 3.0. THE ONLINE SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE FOR BUSINESS PROFESSIONS LINKED IN WILL BEGIN OFFERING 7.84 MILLION SHARES OF THE COMPANY AT AROUND 32-35$ A PIECE, VALUING THE COMPANY AT OVER 3 BILLION $. LINKED IN STANDS TO MAKE ROUGHLY 146 MILLION FROM THE IPO. THOSE ARE YOUR HEADLINES FOR TODAY, IM JEFF BAKALAR FOR CNET. COM AND YOU'VE JUST BEEN LOADED.
