First Look: Plantronics Discovery 925

The Plantronics Discovery 925 is a Bluetooth headset with an odd paper-clip design, but it still gets the job done.

[ Music ] ^M00:00:02 >> I'm Nicole Lee, Associate editor for CNET.com and this is the Plantronics Discovery 925. It's sort of an unusual looking Bluetooth headset right here. It's sort of a paper clip design. On the front here, you do get a very prominent multifunction buttons. It's very easy to press. On the top is a volume control button, meaning you have to press this multiple times in order to get to the volume level you want. We didn't really like it, but that's the way it is. On top here as well is the charger jack. On the back do you get a very typical in-ear style earbud for a Bluetooth headset. It comes with a very cool gel covering, which really fits very comfortably in the ear without the need for ear hook of any kind. It also comes with two different ear gel covers for different size ears. The unique thing about this Discovery 925 it also comes with its own charging case and this unique carrying case also has a battery in it, which means you can charge the headset and the case at the same time. As far as features go, they're pretty normal as far as Bluetooth headsets go. There's voice activated dialing. You can answer and make calls with the headset. There's also Multipoint technology meaning you can pair up the different phones at the same time. What we really like about the Plantronics Discovery 925 is its sound quality. It's really good noise cancellation technology, a really good voice amplification technology, as well. So, we could hear our callers just fine and they could hear us really well as well. The Plantronics Discovery 925 is currently retailing for 149.99. My name is Nicole Lee, this has been the Plantronics Discovery 925. ^M00:01:36 [ Music ]
