Barnes & Noble introduces new Nook tablets, the Wikipad tablet goes after gamers, and "The Instagram Song" pokes fun at the filter-obsessed.

-For when your life needs more HD, I'm Bridget Carey and this is you CNET update. You're shopping for a mini tablet; Barnes & Noble just introduced 2 upgrades to the Nook family. That will ship in October and just like those new Amazon Kindle Fires, the new nook tablet had HD added to the name. Let's start with the nook HD, a 7-inch tablet starting at $200 with 8 GB of memory. It comes in a gray color as well as white. It's super lightweight 20% lighter than the 7-inch Amazon Kindle HD. And if you want something a little bigger, there is the Nook HD Plus with a 9-inch screen. Yup, just like Amazon, Barnes & Noble is also offering a tablet that's slightly bigger. The HD plus starts at $270 for 16 GB of memory. It's also lighter than the larger Kindle Fire HD and lighter than the iPad. It also cost less. Both of these new Nooks have a slot to add your on memory card, but the downside, nether has a camera. But that's not the only tablet storing things, the gamers will be interested in the wiki pad, a 10.1-inch tablet that fits into a controller dock, which 2 analog sticks, a directional pad and 4 buttons. This costs $500, the same as Apple's iPad. The Wikipad though comes out on October 31st, but you can pre order through retailers like game stuff. The Wikipad runs android, so aside from downloading games from Google play, users can also get games from NVIDIA TegraZone store and the playstation mobile platform. -If you use Foursquare, you can get mobile push notifications when a friend checks in somewhere if that friend is in the same city as you, but if you want notifications for someone who isn't near you, you can now go to their profile on foursquare.com and select that you want notifications always on. That way, you can get pop ups about what your far away of love ones are doing or see what's someone's up to on vacation or, you know, good old fashion cyberstalking. The State of California is allowing Google's self-driving cars to go on public roads just as long as there is a licensed driver stilling sitting in the driver's seat. Google cofounder Sergey Brin said that you'll able to get your own self-driving car in 5 years. And hipster's favorite app Instagram has an update for IOS users, I removed the ability to let you preview what a photo filter looks like before you take the photo. OMG, now you have to pick the filter after you take the photo. If you know someone obsessed for capturing light through a retro lens, you should head on over to YouTube to watch the Instagram song, Put A Filter On Me by comedian Julia Mattison. -Let's get brunch. I want my eggs with hollandaise. Those look good in a photo hashtag, delicious. -You can also find the link on her blogs cnet.com/update. From our studios in New York, I'm Bridget Carey. -and call me Instagram.
