Most popular products for October
Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet, we count down another
hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt.
Time again to measure your zeitgeist. What products are you, the CNET
user, viewing in the largest numbers?
We dipped into our traffic data, tallied up the hits, and are ready to
count down the Top 5 most popular products.
At No. 5, The Apple iPhone 3GS. Not to worry, there's only one other
phone on the list. Your fascination with phones has waned, even if your
fascination with the iPhone has not.
Coming in at No. 4, The Asus Eee PC 1005HA. This one's been on the list
for awhile now. It is our Editors' Choice with a lower price, sleek
look, and long battery life. Even if it is a bit thick for a Netbook.
Up to No. 3, The Sony PS3 Slim. Like rain in the desert is your
attention to the PS3. Sony's been having a rough go of it, but the
more energy-efficient, cheaper PS3 Slim has grabbed your attention in a
way no other game console can claim right now.
Sliding in at No. 2, the LG enV Touch. The grandaddy of the list. We
reviewed this one waaayyy back in June. It is the smartphone of choice
for Verizon users. But it falls from the No. 1 spot this week to a
newcomer.
Before we get to No. 1, Time for another Lame Prize.
As we peruse and praise all these popular gadgets, we must cleanse our
palate. With these: One of the most maligned creatures in Star Wars
history.
And you're not competing for just one...but two...Jar-Jar Binks. This
matched set of Jar-Jar will be yours if you can correctly answer this
question and be one of the first 10 folks to do so at the blog posting
for this Top 5 at blog.cnettv.com.
Here's the question.
What was the most popular product 1 year ago. Hint, it was a phone.
And now, let's get to our No. 1. The most popular product right now.
At No. 1, it's...the Zune HD. You stare longingly into it's OLED
screen. You listen with rapt attention to it's HD Radio. You wonder at
its long enduring battery life. In a word, it's love. You love the
Zune. There you said it. Well I said it on your behalf--and it's
true. Your traffic patterns do not lie.
Well That's it for this edition of CNET Top 5.
Don't forget to avoid ever having to be in the presence of two midsize
Jar-Jar dolls for the rest of your life don't answer the trivia
question at blog.cnettv.com.
I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
