First Look: Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Tour In-Ear Headphones

The Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Tour In-Ear Headphones offer much in the way of style and sound, but the extralong earpieces my cause comfort and fit issues for some users.

[ Music ] ^M00:00:02 >> If you really wanna stand out from the crowd with your technology, it's all about finding some fashion-forward headphones. I'm Jasmine France and I'm here with the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Tour In-Ear Headphones. A little bit of mouthful, but I think they're worth it. They're very cool-looking headphones. These are probably some of the most uniquely designed earbuds I've ever seen. They have this kind of flattened, disc-shaped earbud here at the top and this cable which is unlike anything I've really ever seen with portable headphones. This is ribbony cable. It's flat and it's thick and it seems they actually really durable, so we're hoping that will hold up in the long run. One thing that I immediately noticed about these earbuds is that the earpieces themselves are extremely long and that means that they're not gonna be completely comfortable for all users. We did have trouble achieving a comfortable and secure fit. They also stick out of it from the ear because of the super, super long earpiece. So, if you're not comfortable sticking something deep into your ear, and you don't have kind of deep ear canals, these probably aren't gonna work for you because seriously, the longest I've ever seen. So that's pretty much it to cover the design of the headphones. It has a nice straight plug here that should fit in to any standard headphone jack. It's gold plated. They do offer a really clear and balanced audio quality and they come with a few accessories. They come with the case here, as well as several eartips to help you achieve a comfortable fit. Now these aren't cheap. They're $150 earbuds. They do sound good, but the comfort will be an issue, so I definitely recommend trying them if you see them on display anywhere.
