WWDC 2014: Mac Pro gets bold, new look1:05 /
CNET's Josh Lowensohn gets a first look at Apple's completely redesigned Mac Pro desktop at the company's WWDC. The new high-end Mac sports a new Intel Xeon CPU and faster 1,866GHz RAM.
-Hey. This is Josh Lowensohn here at WWDC. Apple's annual developers conference and right behind me is the next big version of the Mac Pro. This is Apple's high-end desktop basically for professionals, people who do a lot of video, photo work, architectural services and stuff like that. It's kind of a throwback to the old days or where we have some kind of like crazy Apple designs, think of something like the G4 Cube. You kinda pull off the top and inside is all these electronics. Of course the big guts inside is a big 12-Core Xeon chip and it's brand new from Intel and it can actually run 4K video on what Apple sets up to multiple screens. So, 3 or 4 screens worked up to this thing. It's got 6 thunderbolt 2 ports and all this technology is not quite ready yet. We don't have a price or a release date but Apple basically said this is their next generation of Pro desktop machine. So, kind of a big reveal here but still a lot to learn about this new machine when it hits. Again, this is Josh Lowensohn at WWDC, taking a first look at the new Mac Pro. -So, you're shooting that as the actual first, not like a news video? -Oh, that was not-- it's not really-- -But he wanted a first-- -And is that what he did? -Yeah. -All right. Good. All right. -[unk]. Are we-- should we do a quick one on YouTube first? -What? What have you been talking about?
