^B00:00:00 >> AC/DC come to Rock Band. Howard Stern is now on XM, and your new Dell could have super-human powers. It's Wednesday, October 1. I'm Natali Del Conte, and it's time to get Loaded. ^M00:00:10 [ Music ] ^M00:00:16 >> Sirius Satellite customers started to enjoy some XM radio content this week, and vice-versa. Two months after the two satellite radio companies merged, users are finally able access shows from both platforms, such as the ever-popular Howard Stern, Oprah Winfrey, and hours of hours of sports programming that keeps the satellite radio business alive. You can manage your stations at sirius.com/bestofxm. [ Sound effect ] The newest Dell computers will have super-hero powers. That's because Dell is offering customers the options of ordering Iron Man, the movie, preloaded on their computers. When you go through the steps of customizing your Dell, adding Iron Man to the hard drive for an extra 20 dollars will now be an option. The company says that it eventually wants to let customers add more movies to their PCs in the future, but for now Iron Man is the only offering. It will only be in standard definition, and you can burn it to a DVD, but only once. I know preinstalling is not a new phenomenon, but it's one that I don't get, especially as DRM policies are getting more and more liberal these days. Besides, why would I buy the movie for just one device when buying the DVD allows me to play it wherever I want? [ Sound effect ] A few ago, a viewer named Alex emailed me asking why the 3G iPhone was not for sale in Puerto Rico. Well, AT&T has just announced that it will carry the 3G iPhone in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands as of October 17. Pricing is the same as it is here in the Continental US. So there's your answer, Alex. Also, happy belated birthday. [ Sound effect ] On the other side of the world Apple is still in some trouble with the Norwegian government. Apple has been on the country's naughty list for a long time, since their DRM policy violates Norway's Market Control Act. When Apple started selling DRM free tracks, this pacified the issue for while, but now it has resurfaced. Norway's Consumer Ombudsman has said that Apple has until November to license iTunes' content to play on other players, or else face official sanctions. [ Sound effect ] LG has confirmed the KC780, which they're calling the thinnest 8-megapixel camera on the market. It's said to a quad band GSM phone with a limited touch screen. We're not sure when it will be released, or how much it will cost just yet. I got a few emails about high megapixel phones like we talked about on Monday. It should be noted that these phones don't exactly have the hardware to take full advantage of these high megapixel capabilities. But you'll still get better pictures than you do out of a two or three megapixel camera. Thank you to everyone who wrote me to point that out. [ Sound effect ] RealNetwork's new DVD-burning software just barely launched this week when the company was slapped with a lawsuit by the Motion Picture Association of America. Real DVD is a new program that let's you transfer your DVDs into digital files to be played on your PC. The MPAA says that this violates the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and they are not having it. They not only want the software to be blocked from distribution, they also want damages and injunctive relief. I don't think they'll win. I talked to RealNetworks at Demo last month, and they assured me that their product was not in violation of the DCMA, or any other copyright legislation. This is the equivalent of putting CDs you already own into your iTunes library. Not allowing this with movies would be utterly ridiculous. [ Sound effect ] If you book a room at a Marriott, chances are you may get a room with a Nintendo Wii. Nintendo has inked a deal with the hotel chain to put Wiis in rooms at Marriots in five cities around the country. You won't get limitless access to the console, though. You'll have to either pay by the hour, by the day, or by the stay. The consoles will be pre-loaded with games so you won't have to mess around with discs. You probably also will be charged a lot of money if you steal the Wiimote, so I wouldn't try that. [ Sound effect ] The state of Ohio is the first state to put comprehensive voting information on Google Maps. That means that if you live in Ohio, you can find your nearest polling location through Google Maps. This can be really handy, especially if you lose that little card that the registrar sends you. You can find this information at maps.google.com/vote. The guide there already has voting locations for a number of states, including the District of Columbia, but Ohio is the first state to officially cooperate in making this guide complete. Google aims to have voting info for all 20 states by mid-October. This is very helpful, but it won't be if you're not registered to vote. There are a lot of places to do that online. A good place to start is rockthevote.org. Get on it. [ Sound effect ] Pakistan could have WiMAX way before the US. That's because Motorola has committed to helping WhyTry Pakistan Unlimited, a mobile broadband provider, to build out a WiMAX network. Motorola will provide the infrastructure for the entire country. Pakistan's WiMAX network should go live in 2009. [ Sound effect ] AC/DC is giving Wal-Mart another exclusive release with the debut of their new Rock Band game, AC/DC Live. The band's new album, Black Ice, will be released on October 20th exclusively through Wal-Mart. The video games will feature tracks from Black Ice, as well as old classics such as Thunderstruck, Highway to Hell, and of course, You Shook Me All Night Long. Wal-Mart will set up special AC/DC kiosks where you can buy the games and the album, t-shirts, and more. The game launches on November 2nd for the Xbox and PlayStation, and on November 16th for the Wii. [ Sound effect ] Microsoft is going to release a new Zune especially for Gears of War fans. The Zune Gears of War 2 special edition is 120-gig player with laser etched crimson omen on the black backing. It also comes preloaded with extras, such as soundtracks, behind the scenes video, trailers, and photos. It will be available on November 7th for $279.00. Speaking of Zune, yesterday I mentioned that I wouldn't buy Latin Jazz that was DRMed to work only on the Zune. Well, Chris wrote me to remind me that all Zune music is DRM free. He's right. Music from the Zune store has been without DRM since 2007. My bad. [ Sound effect ] Those are all your headlines for today, but I will see you tomorrow. Thank you for watching. I'm Natali Del Conte with CNET TV, and you've just been Loaded. ^M00:05:51 [ Music ]
