First Look: LG Optimus Slider for texting lovers

1:11 /

The LG Optimus Slider on Virgin Mobile offers a 3.2-inch screen, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and a four-row QWERTY keyboard for all your texting needs.

Hello everybody. It's Lynn La from CNET. Bringing you guys the LG Optimus Slider from Virgin Mobile. The Slider is a mid range 3G device that has a 3.2 inch touch screen display and runs on Android Ginger Break. It's powered by a single core, 800 Megahertz processor and a 1500 milliamp per hour battery which gives you a top time of roughly 4 hours and 10 minutes. In the back, there's a 3.2 mega pixel camera that is unfortunately not equipped with a flash. For all you texting lovers out there, underneath, there is a 4 row cordi fly out keyboard that lights up when you use it and it includes 4 navigational arrows. Now, during my time with the hand set, I find that it didn't have the greatest battery life. Plus, it weighs in at 5.11 ounces so it's a bit of a heavy weight. I also found the built a little bulky. Even when considering the slide out keyboard. However, I did appreciate the generous real state of the keyboard and it's ease of use. Now, if you're interested in the this no contact device, it's going for $180 at virgin mobile. Again, I'm Lynn from CNET bringing you guys the LG Optimus Slider.
