First Look: JVC Everio with Wi-Fi and a 40x lens

1:53 /

As entry-level camcorders go, JVC's Everio GZ-EX250 is an OK option, especially if Wi-Fi functionality and a 40x zoom lens are at the top of want list.

Here I'm Josh Goldman senior editor with CNET and I'm here to talk to -- the GBC. And -- GC. EX 250. Now with standard definition -- quarters gun and there's a whole crop of entry level HD models. I was basically use long zoom lens is an extra features to attract buyers. With the X 250 for example say it uses -- 8040 -- and -- Sixteen gigs of internal Flash Memory and built in Wi-Fi for its main selling points. Now the first two are pretty self explanatory but the Wi-Fi and I gives you things like -- -- mongering either direct to an IOS or Android device or over the web. I can act as a motion detector automatically taking a photo and sending it off by email. It can also email 152 video clips to up to eight registered addresses or you can directly connect to a Smartphone -- use it to transfer and upload video sharing sites. Get geo tags or remotely control the cam -- -- some of these features were better than others and not all of them are supported for Mac or IOS but it is more functionality then you get with most can't quarters. Aside from the Wi-Fi you'll also find some other extras like time lapse or slow motion video. Or other effects video quality is okay good and despite being called full HD recording AV CHD format. It looks more like good standard definition video. So basically buy it if you're really into the wireless capabilities in the forty X zoom and your videos are primarily for online sharing. I'm Josh Goldman and that's the GDC -- -- GC EX 250.
