Car Tech Video: Jaguar C-X17 concept

At the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, Jaguar unveiled their crossover concept called the Jaguar C-X17 which gives us several nods to the current crop of Jaguars including the F-Type.

Hey, what's up everybody. This is Antoine Goodwin with CNET.com and I'm on the floor of the 2013 Frankfurt Motor show. We're taking a look at a big blue and kind of odd Jaguar. But medium sized crossovers aren't odd for the industry and that's why Jaguar has got the CX-17 here. It's a very hot part of the industry where there's a lot of money that can be made. And they're kind of testing the waters to see whether they actually wanna get in on that. It's not a lot of information going on about what's happening under the hood. This is pretty much just a styling exercise. You look at the rear end. You'll see the F-types, tail lights that are a little more squared off than round. And if you look at the fronting, you'll see a vertically stretched version of the XF's front end. So a lot of the- sort of styling cues that we're seeing in Jaguar's corporate language, being translated on to a larger body and they're testing the waters. Jaguar hasn't announced whether they're actually gonna build the CX-17 or a crossover based on this design. So we'll just keep our eyes [unk] becoming ears to see if the temptation to get into that very hot crossover market is too tempting to Jaguar. I've been Antoine Goodwin with CNET.com on the floor of the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show taking a look at the Jaguar CX-17 crossover concept.
