Mobile World Congress 2015: Huawei Ascend G6 is a 4G phone for selfie lovers

1:32 /

The Huawei Ascend G6 is an Android Jelly Bean phone packing 4G LTE connectivity and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera to make your selfies look better than ever

-I'm Andrew Hoyle for CNET and I'm here taking a look at the Huawei Ascend G6. Now, with its metallic edging and rounded bottom, G6 is quite reminiscent of the Ascend P6 that Huawei launched last year. You will even still find the headphone jack set on the side at the bottom. Now the Ascend G6 has a 4.5 rather than 4.7 inch screen though, so it is slightly smaller than the P6. Now, the display has a 960 x 540 pixel resolution, which seemed reasonably bright and bold in my hands-on time. Definitely good enough for the essentials of Twitter of Facebook. On the back of the phone is an 8-megapixel camera, but more importantly is a 5-megapixel camera on the front, which will definitely appeal to those of you like me who love taking selfies all the time. It's got a 1.2 gigahertz quad core processor inside and is running android 4.3 Jellybean with Huawei's Emotion UI slapped over the top. Other features include a 2,000 milliamp an hour battery, 4G connectivity, and micro-SD card slot to expand the 8 gigabytes of built-in storage. There's no official world on price yet, but expect to hear more in the next few weeks as it's due to go on sale here in the U.K. sometime in April. Huawei hasn't yet said whether it will be available outside of the U.K. or in the U.S., but make sure to keep at CNET for all the latest news. I'm Andrew Hoyle for CNET and this is the Huawei Ascend G6.
