First Look: Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat matches home decor

1:00 /

Honeywell takes on Nest with its own Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat that can be programmed with a smartphone app. Bridget Carey takes a look at the system and its screen, which can be set to match any room color.

Hi. I'm Bridget Carey with CNET TV here in New York with the first look at a new product by Honeywell, the WiFi Smart Thermostat. This is a smart product where you can control your temperature in your house from an app like on an iPad or on an Android device. And the interesting thing about this product is that it also is customizable to your home décor. You can set dozens of colors on this backdrop. You can set it for different temperatures. Say, when you wake up, it can be in one temperature. When you get home, that could be another. If you know you're going on vacation, you can set it ahead of time from your iPad and make sure that it's gonna be cool or warm [unk]. This is gonna be in Home Depot stores in May for $250 and this is a growing area. You're gonna be seeing more of these kinds of devices where you can take charge, do it yourself, and install so many in your home that makes you have a more connected home. For CNET TV, I'm Bridget Carey.
