Is there such a thing as a safer cigarette? CNET's Molly Wood visits Thermo Essence Technologies in Silicon Valley, tries out their vaporizers, and imagines a future of inhalable food.

Most people cause they -- has kind of term for vapor rising. Maybe as we -- we can come up with something better than I feel like they've been I don't love it. Just -- you haven't heard of big being let me tell you all about it that way guys don't think. I visited Silicon Valley face their OS and technologies where they are designing and manufacturing. Their own high tech -- for -- it's kind of warm. It's not enough customers it does not involve combustion which it's taking a flame to tobacco and burning it. Underneath instead what happens here is the tobacco is -- -- that's where you -- it and turned into vapor. You can inhale and exhale that paper. But you don't get combustion so -- you're not destroying immaterial that you're trying to inhale anyway can be you don't have the negative side effects and conflicts. Not regulated by the FDA the wee -- in a way self. It helps you sleep at night knowing we're not giving people something they can hop dancer and -- Would people look at this and it's an electronic cigarette. Some of our products are certainly about what we would consider performance electronic cigarette and we actually build our advisors who little magic part of the device that generates the -- is our technology that we built right here you know. Potential weight loss -- a potential curb to curb your cravings -- you get that flavor and that feeling.
