Google Maps now lets you add pit stops along your route during road trips.
Make sure you have the latest version of Maps on Android and input your final destination.

Now, click on the Menu button with the three dots on the upper right-hand corner, and select Add Stop.
Type in your first pit stop, and once it appears on the route press and hold the button on the side and drag to reposition on your route.
You can add as many stops and in any order you want.
Your total trip time will appear below your stop on the blue tab

Start to begin navigation and you can see the total time to your first stop.You can also click on the X on the bottom part or in the center of the tab.
Another Another helpful tool for those road trips, the search icon that lets you quickly pull up points of interest along the way for that last minute detour.
