Get started with the Galaxy Note 3
The Galaxy Note 3 is one of the biggest smartphones of the year.
Literally, this phone is huge with its massive 5.7-inch display and faster quad-core processor, the Galaxy Note 3 is a force to be reckoned with.
In addition to all the features, the S Pen stylus delivers, Samsung also added things like advanced multitasking, a new way to discover content and much, much more.
I'm Dan Graziano and I'm going to show you some of the coolest things you can do with the Galaxy Note 3.
A long press in the back button will enable multi window mode.
From here you can select compatible apps that will run side by side.
This feature is also found in the Galaxy S 4, however, Samsung added even more goodies for Note owners.
When two apps are open, tap the blue circle in the center of the screen.
This shows a menu that gives you the option to switch to a new app, swap the current windows, drag and drop content from one app to the other and close the app.
If you click on the arrow button inside the multi window menu, you will see additional options such as the ability to create a paired window, edit the app shown in the menu and access the help page.
The Note 3 includes a new way to explore content known as My Magazine.
This feature can be accessed with a swipe up from the dock or by clicking the home button.
My Magazine shows content from different media outlets and sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Holding your finger down on that same button will reveal which apps are running.
A simple swipe of the finger will close
individual apps or you can click the X icon to cancel them all.
This menu also includes quick access to Samsung's test manager and Google Now.
Meanwhile, a double tap on the home button will launch Samsung's Siri clone known as S Voice.
The Galaxy Note 3 also includes features from the Galaxy S4 such as Smart Pause, Smart Stay, Air View and Air Gestures.
These can be enabled in the phone settings or by pulling down the notification menu and clicking the window icon in the top right corner.
Samsung added ton of
features of the Galaxy Note 3. A new search feature known as S Finder will make navigating your device a lot easier.
This can be enabled with a long press on the menu button.
Samsung was also kind enough to add a search bar to the phone settings.
This should help you locate different options and features you would like to enable.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by all these features, Mom and Dad, Samsung's new devices including easy mode.
This can be enabled by going to settings, clicking on the device tab and selecting the easy mode option.
When this feature is turned on, your phone will display a simplified layout with larger icon.
