CNET Update: Galaxy S4's awkward tween messenger

2:53 /

Samsung teases the Galaxy S4 smartphone with a strange video, Socialmatic is becoming a reality with Polaroid, and Chirpify tests a new way to buy items on Facebook.

-The secret behind the next big smartphone is apparently in the hands of a tween. I'm Bridget Carey and this is your CNET update. Samsung will be revealing the highly anticipated Galaxy S4 next week on Thursday, but their speculation is swirling about the smartphone's features. Rumor says it could have an 8-core processor, a 5 inch screen, 2 gigs of RAM, and 13-megapixel camera on the back. Well have to see what exactly is true though on March 14th and to keep people buzzing about the phone, Samsung released a teaser video about the event, but to be blunt, it's a pretty bad video. It's about how Samsung is trusting the secrets of the S4 to this really annoying kid and instead of getting you excited about the S4, it will leave questioning, what was Samsung think. Usually, their ads are pretty clever. It ends on a to be continued message. So, I guess, Samsung will push out a few more this embarrassing video before it launches. There's an independent film that's making its premiere exclusively on Xbox Live called pulp and this is the first time any movie has been only available on Xbox Live and speaking of videos, the YouTube App on iOS has a new feature. Well, it's a feature that Android users have had first some time now. So, it's just new for Apple folks. It's called send to TV and it let you take a video you're watching on your phone or tablet and have it play on your TV. You just need a Smart TV or some device with a YouTube app like an Xbox, Wii, or PS3. You can get a tutorial on how to do this on CNET.com. You may have seen the concept for product called the Socialmatic camera. It's a square camera that looks like the Instagram app icon and you can print photos right from it like a Polaroid, but you add filters before you print. Well, it's gonna be a reality next year and the Socialmatic will be a Polaroid branded camera. Would you purchase something on Facebook just by leaving a comment with the word "buy." Keep your on a service called Tripify because it's now working with companies on Facebook to let you buy items with the simple one word comment. The key is that you first have to register info Tripify website. Then, when you type of the word "buy," You will get charged and the item shifts to you. Tripify has already been doing this for Twitter and Instagram, but it recently tested the service on Facebook with the country singer Tim McGraw letting his fans purchase his latest album with the comment and Adidas also tried out selling limited edition gear to soccer fans. That's your tech news update. You have to find more details on the stories at the blog, CNET.com/update. From our studios in New York, I'm Bridget Carey.
