Ep. 38: Xoom and Doom

Mobile
Zoom the doom Blackberry on Android and highways Android tablets can -- all that more in this week's edition of -- -- weekly from march 3 2011 I'm Justin -- on Antuan Goodwin what that everybody has to go on it doing well as a companion and I. As a go a little green men. But it's a competitive. Well welcome. So let's jump into it that are there's a pig. Big tangential news I guess you'd call it. There -- little event yesterday yesterday. -- Iran and Europe is now -- yesterday the iPad two was announced and it lives exactly what we all thought it was going to be. Or -- can't talk about a whole lot about that we are gonna talk about that in the context. The zoom and a -- -- tablets in general. So the question on the table. Has raised by our own David Carnoy. In his fully equipped blog is is the iPad too big trouble for Android tablet. -- -- Well launching the end -- -- of -- -- like everyone else was and I'm gonna say yeah you. -- big trouble. And book for no other reason. That prices -- really enticing it's got the brand recognition. And it's got the break. So far. -- -- so it's. It's if you're literate fan and you have refused to watch any of the -- note. First -- Steve Jobs is there. But the iPad two as expected is sliver. It's lighter has dual core processor better graphics -- -- cameras on the front and back. And it's that same price IDs thirtieth for 99 compared to. The closest and great competitor and -- zoom which is starts at 599 with two year contract. Right -- really 800 dollars have. There's talk of -- being a a cheaper Wi-Fi only version right we haven't seen that yet gamma Motorola has confirmed there will be one but no details about it. I mean if you -- parents and respect for specs in the price point is really sort of 799. Compared with. You know what is in -- 720 united I think -- the similarly equipped. But it's not really about specs here right. It's night it developed reality distortion field. Yes bigger than hell admit out watching the keynote in there was a moment -- -- like I want wine. I think a lot of people are gonna gonna feel that and that the third of you know -- -- tablet one. In I think I think people call them iPad in some circles where -- -- in a hell here's the Motorola -- oh you mean like and -- iPad thing. I mean I've heard that there aren't really there yet so there's already kind of the of the brand recognition where in -- In like Xerox yet every copy machine is Xerox. And in some people's mind every tablet form factors and iPad or -- -- -- Right -- and I think that. You know I think it's fair given what Apple has spent and the effort they've given -- marketing and we haven't seen that from Motorola or from Google for. From anyone. On that side of the fence the the thing -- is specs for the most part don't matter. Unless it's slow so. When you use these have underpants powered Android phones specs matter right -- The iPad one -- to -- pretty much when you use the iPad one -- -- -- literally. So who cares about specs what matters is you turn them on if you can find the power button. Commercial content about -- area where. And you look at the zoom. And it's just. Marked up because it doesn't have -- -- -- of full -- screen that. It's also complex that can -- menus up in their rates and lower left and up here and down there and in comparison you look at the -- -- -- you just see. This screen of icons -- making it's it's pretty simple to look at. There's your icons and then there's more content than you can get to settings but for the most part you can do one thing launch apps -- So certainly you can argue that -- is more powerful and it is and that's why you and I and Android enthusiasts who are users like it. But for the mass market it just nineties. And honeycomb is an improvement in some areas in some areas it's just. You know -- collect movie Tron. It was this that the more recent movie Tron. Paul -- he would explain it to me. You know confuses you halfway through. And I think -- -- -- -- grinding and the greatest movie ever filmed and the first hundredth second. But the have to and it relays and man. That the they are kind of agreed the I think that. In my opinion that the iPad tablet cool too simple. For something that -- -- I think they'll split from the flexibility of being able to. Actually use widgets on your home screen and still have space experts doubt as opposed to on the phone these -- -- to get. Half of your screen. It there's more space for -- through. Export experience on the on a -- on -- tablet. Pummeled them on a pad one a tablet people who -- yeah I have been thought -- lake in that way. For my youth at least. Honeycomb side and -- it more interesting to me because it is more flexible. But then of course you -- -- apps you know what about those users that are looking for something simpler. That whole like our audience that the iPad appeals to people who just aren't very tech savvy. And you know. Wanna computing experience wanna be able to access the Internet and -- to -- news but and don't feel like learning how to use the computer. Right I mean so we compare this to -- PC world. Mac vs PCs that whole war rate. Of decades ago -- now everyone and look at it and it is very similar to sort of the Mac vs windows so windows -- complicated but what equip powerful. And the Mac with simple -- it. -- was simple they are now talking about like OS six and seven and a big difference here though is that. Back then Apple with the premium product but now -- actually cheaper exactly what I was gonna say that no I think that's a great point is that react. You -- windows. Were you know windows based PCs because they were. A third the cost you and that's how they competed if it prices are -- same. That never would happen that I would argue. And yeah it's the it's reversed now so. This is a pretty good lead in to our top five ways Andrew tablets can compete because we are -- -- here and we do -- -- To compete right now I think. They're really targeting two different markets -- not the competitive products kind of dependent not at all it. Let's jump into so do it number one. Cut the price -- half. And Maine medical extreme but it has to be the lower cost alternative right now for the mass market. Honeycomb and -- for tablets is not. As simple it's not the easy choice the other way to compete here you don't have a premium product is. You don't rights. It. That makes sense. And I think. If if I can like part about cars for a moment I think that's. You see this a lot happening with your Toyota who's like the big -- -- -- Honda they've got the you know that the brand recognition in notes -- memory of what it is but been Kia and Hyundai have been making good -- but the last February years right. And the only reason that. I think a lot of people -- need to consider Akira Andy considering in other history is -- the cheaper brand because they're less expensive. So that's how all of those Korean -- -- competing with the Japanese. They're giving a product that is arguably just as good if not a little bit better but. Because they're not. You know the Apple of their field they have to lower their price -- -- though I think. Injury could kind of step in in and that that we saw a lot of that last year. In the Smartphone realm where rendering with stepping in -- lower cost devices that offered similar functionality. And people willing to step away from. -- but Apple juggernaut to save a couple hundred bucks. We'll do that think they could happen in the tablet room. Yet and I think that her analogy is really good and I think it also it I'll bring it back up for number five as it accurately predict those days there as well and some aspects -- -- Often -- he had no it's feared the eight. Intersected. All right so next use. It flaps -- flash already on the tablet like he may mean the selling point. Of the whole original Droid Droid does was that you couldn't do which wanna do here -- you can run do step for the iPad can't. -- The funny they give it -- almost a year to get today campaign yet -- we can do flash. Eventually and I mean the -- experience still sub optimal and Smartphone. It's sub optimal but just take a very basic it's barely gonna go to -- register a website and -- just wanna read the menu. At hand -- I can't so if it takes a minute load that's okay because at least. I can watch it -- if I want to do an iPad. It takes maybe five minutes for me to go to a computer and open up the same site the web defender immediate if I have to Davis restaurants you mean you should not be in -- You mean you should not be PDF. Linked -- Internet should be html you're gonna build a website build the web site used placed an extra stuff but don't put the core of your content -- -- mean. Yes I think -- brewery in front -- agree with you there. But the fact is that's the way it is then each wanna be able access the content you don't have the care -- mean. -- -- for the most part people don't know classes there are not there do they just think why can't I read this menu. I just wanna see his website wife and I watched as video -- Right well -- throughout. Marketing blitz. Is number three so Apple. Boom boom boom just pounded into it every chance every corner with plate. Pretty innovative. You know ad campaigns are released on the get your attention told John -- and and that other. Nerdy guy that doesn't mean long they -- they spend as much time and money on their campaigns at the door on their design and industrial design. Yes and that's important and that's they know about and that's how you know why it's important and you know maybe each hardware. Maker individually doesn't wanna put up -- and -- money -- It seems like they should. Create a consortium and all contribute money to promoting Android. Including -- with their deep pockets -- so it. Here's where are better and if you think back to the original Droid. Does campaign. That was pretty effective -- people were talking about that. All of a place that's why I brought my first Android phone. I'll -- the thing I think -- admit it did issue here is going to be. A lot of the brains don't really have that sort of Rory parity. Where is all of Motorola's phones are generally well on the Verizon at least on on the carrier -- So they could invest money into Droid and know that their next -- the three day still benefit from people knowing what Droid is and you know the Droid -- people still know what Droid is. But you know somebody who like Samsung whose panic galaxy and fascinate in that innovate in you know whatever via. -- They are not getting much for their money every time they advertise for particular phone especially because they're coming out with a new phone and six month. That they're gonna wanna advertise also -- there's not a lot of like the carry over there of course they're all Android phone but they don't. Want to and they're not gonna wanna spend money to promote somebody else's phone on the rare chance on the -- channel Internet. Promote other phones they just have to promote the platform -- Android is good violence is bad that's what they need to contribute -- The so run their own campaigns -- -- promote their phones you know it's just like whatever the -- -- eggs. You know are good campaign here. Commons or whatever there's all sorts it's an industry trade groups that have individual players. The right Vega. You know there are also in -- -- -- -- but it also have -- rancher whoever namely by army because. It's organic. It's not actually that -- -- I think I understand where your mother brother and I checked back in back in the the logic in that but that's the problem with -- that that it's not common. And that I mean there's a lot of greed. Coming from the company than they -- this. You know they they don't have a history of banding together but -- things -- mean the electronics industry can barely standards right. If you want them to band together to promote a platform and they're not filling the platform that filling phones at the same reason that they all. Want their own special skin. To cover up the injury experience and hide it. They want. Inexpensive platform that authority there but then they wanna be able to see our own it's not the theme panel at the same is the Samsung phone because we've got our road moto -- happening here that's what's different that -- to pick a Motorola phone. It's if fragmentation on many different levels. Move on the number forward President Obama I'm depressed -- -- of the stuff. Our direct goes small is number forests so. Before of the iPad -- comes out. Wanna iPod Touch Jumbo would prefer that. IPod -- excel can you know get a small. I mean okay fine you got Samsung to have out there but -- it's not good. It's not fast enough that aren't gonna come you need. Maybe -- zoom. That is. Seven inches. The same specs anything -- that recalling -- number from that and I understand that that is somewhere between your phone and injured tablet I mean I think the form factor. The tab is pretty nice to be nice if who is you know even thinner and lighter and faster -- randomly. And then you have this sort of an untapped market -- -- because I think. The -- -- have was not sort of a full -- ready to go. Product because it -- -- or so he. So I think today someone just need only -- -- sides should adapt to a medium sized tablet. -- routes you there because I do like the size of the task and that think that. I think Apple has -- they're not gonna make it smaller iPad. Extended and they said a lot of things though there is at least for now space in the market for -- -- -- -- in and wiggle. Again it's also -- but it potentially compete on price with smaller screen usually mean less money that -- but upfront for it. -- -- could -- step in there and kill two birds one stone by filling out. Small tablet -- also. -- hitting number one connect reform -- -- Our ranked number five. Innovate. For the love of god. So. This one -- sketches for the show in you know we had to be heated discussion about this that I feel like. We don't see innovation out of most standard companies it's especially on a tablet front okay it has been some interest in things. The dual screen phones in 3-D phones. But very innovative -- enough -- actually go anywhere but. -- -- Front they need to out innovate they need to get out innovate Apple get ahead of Apple. Two you know gain some advantage here. -- as it is now. You know the zoom what had the advantage for two days or something like that on specs alone -- -- I forgot specs don't matter in the tablet game yet for the most part like we said before -- -- it's slow. It doesn't really matter how fast it -- right. So who cares about -- would like. Using the iPad one verses of the zoom. There's just nothing innovative in the zoom -- against the front facing cameras but but uneven innovative. But we all knew that was coming Apple knew Apple's been planned -- that for whatever two years. The men and their products so introduce something that Apple hasn't thought of here. You must have smart people and Motorola or all the -- with. I mean I think we are seeing a little bit of an enemies in the when the -- -- oh wait now. What is LG 3-D tab yet I think that the in the deflate when it comes here. It'll be 3-D. That'll be something that the -- and I probably implies that create innovation that someone actually care about. People clearly care about greedy because you never stop hearing about it. And it is a big -- and it probably filming that selling. Filled enough I mean -- filled movie ticket that -- key in a movie -- and they keep making movies that fills enough keys that there all over CES this year. While enough he has is more forward looking for -- -- plan to fill out its video plan that allow plan. They want to help -- but I mean at three tablet -- helped push the technology -- that I want to see that cannot stand watching. You know converted 3-D movies. Especially since the tablet yes it's still need glasses they still need glasses -- it right. In 03 phones that you don't need glasses for three tablet that you do 3-D TV. It's humane you're -- uses the same classes as your TV. Namely media fragmentation -- the different kinds of things. Fragmentation come out pregnant. -- But we're seeing innovation and I think I'm gonna go -- segue into the next story because I feel like there's. And design. Your innovation issue this is great. And this is actually proves the were right he won the bet that we never replace indeed. I've got hysteria on a on the crave blog Byron Matt Hickey. Who says that Motorola has confirmed that they are going to have a -- -- docking. Two more of their phones in the future and the actual what they actually stated that. They're top tier phone -- living here. Phone that are similar to the tricks that they have -- -- the sort of a laptop that's kind of experience. Are gonna be able league take advantage of these laptop docs. At the -- -- -- the trees extremely interesting. I'm as a form factor and I think. That that is uninteresting way of innovating done. Yeah I think as it is I'm really happy -- because this is kind of what I -- when we last discussed that. We know one phone that doesn't who care that a line of phones that do it. Is good especially and I think this is key if they all use the same sort of dock port or whatever and yet. And if they're about the the connection for the phone is the same weapons and easy way to get adapters for the phones without spending a ton of money. I mean here's a delicate twenty dollar price point point adaptor here button. Anything above that. And you start to -- yourself from the -- but. I think in that. That they can keep things that if he's here to -- me because I'm winning. Our bit about the these laptop form factors but. I think it's uninteresting. Kind of way to bridge the gap and kind of hedge your bets in the tablet market and -- The your phone is already a pretty big screen at that point I mean the -- has. What four point -- on -- screen you're so it's a pretty big screen already so for a lot of year. Basic web browsing kind of things. You know sending text messages are real quick emails you've already got a decently sized screen right there and then when you want to maybe. Sit down and actually do something that would require. A larger screen we've got a laptop and I mean you've got a keyboard there in front of you -- the whole capable doesn't take up much more space than a phone in the tablet would already take up. In your backpack. Yemen I think this is a great day industries like this is when I want him to have a world in I was actually wondering before this show wide don't today. You know let you -- -- matrix phone with your you know zoom so that this screen size of the matrix display. When connected it is eleven point five inches which isn't a whole lot bigger than -- zoom displays of those could just be paired. Either threes have an external dock are ever going -- -- order Wi-Fi VGA or something like that com. You know then you create a compelling reason for someone to buy -- zoom. Right so you want them to not fill up top dot but the cells do while I'm just saying like there -- only -- so many things so. If -- trying to drive sales of resumes like credit trying to drive sales of the laptop here origins -- -- -- -- get the phone in the first place that. And a laptop -- and secondary. Laptop is a secondary thing it that you can buy them of the bundle would then if you -- the phone and decide you want the the screen. Then you can but he would -- the -- Separate and there's also the multimedia -- you can also buy a separate for connecting the phone to a TV -- -- -- lets you see whether standardizing. That dot connection. And if -- like I would guess that. The tablet market is more important to Motorola from the dock. Market -- here's my question. The -- is as powerful as your phone. The well would you want it to replicate the mean while would you -- to active display fearful when it can just do what your -- They -- -- -- data's on your phone will mean then it's -- to -- make more sense to sync the data instead of sharing the profit they. Maybe he created it. For Quad Core processor by a pair in the two. The fact that the -- the bandwidth across -- Bluetooth connection is not gonna be the bottleneck there. Life Wi-Fi. Are right let's talk about -- -- Let's talk about it and so we've talked about the -- played before. Nicole Lee actually went and got to play with it. And -- -- sort of quick read up on how it actually feels. Mid season as you know feels a lot like a PlayStation controller at home. It's thinner and lighter than the PSP which makes it feel at first fragile but she can't quickly used to that. The biggest problem -- is. The sort of when they called the two joystick. Analog at the exactly I think -- -- -- its -- last week there. That's sensitive circles. He says just don't have the same physical feedback as a real joystick and so it takes a little getting used to -- and com. You know it's it's good for something's not used for other things that definitely has service steep learning curve. But the bottom line here was that I'm. After playing for a few minutes. You know if you -- really immersed in the game play. Com and the controls and became secondary. Well as good news -- those concerned about. You know that the size of the controller like you see things in pictures and is no -- -- To new of the scale of it is then used remote control and if they're getting hand cramps. But think -- -- good to -- that day that -- comfortable to play with. -- I think the bottom line that anything like gaming -- -- -- They are are good games than people are gonna buy it that's right and that built in kind of PlayStation network. Of games. Is that it is going to be huge boon. Yet as -- as not -- horrible. Controller right exactly and it's fun. Asked to speak -- gaming. Nvidia. Obviously big player in the gaming world. And getting more and more involved in the -- mobile world. The fair tegra two processors. So they have released -- in standard market. Called tegra zone that showcases current and upcoming games that have been optimize for tegra two. Com. And -- can't actually download apps from their bank you can view previews and read about them and then when you actually -- get them it will launch. The App Store again. -- can actually get -- game. So courage sustain -- -- -- -- but what this brings out in an article by Scott Webster -- -- the under -- bought. It is sort of more fragmentation in Mandarin markets -- people optimizing. For specific chip sets so. There's these games that are optimizing for -- to -- heard last week about Netflix optimizing or only been released on. -- called -- snap dragon processors are phones that I have that. Who America's Qualcomm also partnered with that game loft produced -- Steve versions. Of there. Titles for -- -- again. So what is does do M -- s.'s horrible bad crazy more fragmentation. Disasters news. I don't know I feel like if it's kind of is it. I think it's interesting that game -- the before for Americans kind of reminds me. Back when Nvidia needs Seattle were battling it out in the gaming market is DR would mean and PC -- -- -- with when it was. Serious hearted -- and games would actually come optimize. Nvidia -- so it's like. In Italy they would actually be stamped on the box that does schemes optimize for the eight you know if he had -- -- and 2400 public. This is -- the card you need for this game. But realistically you could play the game on any card. In both cases they just put in performance rights or the -- the performance would be yet negligible he would really be able to know unless your benchmarking it and unanswered question is how old. -- differences it. Ray -- I know it's only sees games reviewed on on two different -- That you know -- -- a couple of weeks ago when I believe there was Qualcomm says the partnered with Netflix. And that's what they reference in here so that's the real problem one -- for games but then. If you look at video where -- -- Netflix will only be on platforms with the Qualcomm snap dragon processor but it's. You know can do the DRM -- and I'll say that or. About a day -- like my next phone must have the Qualcomm chip -- give Netflix the killer app for me. So I've actually seen that happen you know like in my own personal life where. It is -- of that sort of marketing hype. Partnership. The you know almost the -- -- and the not really in the market for a phone to a -- -- -- -- sway my decision -- -- back in the happening. Now with other people. It is kind of scary because I mean if it's not like we haven't mentioned for different kind of -- fragmentation the -- on the injury platform. On this show. -- -- -- associate did exactly that to be adding yet another -- You know it's that one of those things were the choice is good added. But then we're starting to -- that you know. -- of that whole. Apple take in this week's editor -- funding that a lot of people do enjoy and to be able to know that you're gonna buy a phone in -- buyer's remorse next month because the app you'll go beyond it. It'll scary. Certainly I mean it again do we have enough stuff to worry about and Android phone there is that you buy your phone and a better phone beyond two month. So -- do you really want to not be able to in the one more thing that. Worry about which apps work on this phone verses via or are optimizer. While global. NASA's next story is actually one -- and love very. Beat are our cargo guy oh I forgot the the comparison actually to. Cars in the top five list I -- to sort of reference the key. And the Hyundai how they have innovated. In sort of warranties and it's been -- yes were cheap but that's not enough so we have to innovate and give these ten year warranties the rate that sort of you know that seem very innovative to me with -- cancer and Nam and Iraq. They -- innovate in other ways -- -- -- make darn good cars these days. Again but it. They've only been making it what I would consider to be good cars in the last couple of years -- I don't really know it. It and it got the if they you know they've got -- of the launch of heated back apartment Pacific Arctic -- -- -- packet well we get back into. The car stuff though -- -- tying. Android and cars together again. David -- is a story over on our crave blog about. Yet another use or the Barnes & Noble Nook Color -- actually turning out to be the -- with little. The killer app killer like you know hackers dream -- -- that Hillary is yet and so when taken one and moderated into. An index car stereo system. So you get video of it over on the site. Thanks youth playing right now for those of you watching the video version. And it's basically. Hecker the -- way to activate the a Bluetooth module that in the -- Color that doesn't actually and -- -- active when you buy it though it can get access to. And free via calling. You can also play back and media that thankfully on the device itself. And make kind of theory is that once -- get the Bluetooth activated. Sync it. Cellphone cellphone to get GPS and maps there and pandora streaming maybe. And the cost immediate threat -- -- -- Well here's the thing about like in -- -- stuff yet that eliminate a lot of power. -- think a lot of power to run carte stuff. You know you GPS chip demeaned of the you know where you don't mind games on there yeah -- a media playback Orion on a couple hundred -- I mean if it's just music in -- watching videos while you drive. Couple hundred megahertz -- would limit the -- -- her do it. But any even let you GPS mapping. -- -- the processors and even the best ones of those are only a couple hundred megahertz nened. That's me we've seen this happen in the aftermarket. I think parrot is working on a Bluetooth indexed area not Bluetooth injury index stereo and a couple of other manufacturers. Are working on line. Android headrest monitors -- it -- As the ideal -- is working. Injury had responded -- actually allow you to pair -- phone connect to the Internet. And do all that stuff in the back seat. Interesting to see yet another form factor. -- really impressed by how well the thing is performing. You have and honeycomb given the maps. That were in popularly as the threat. Aren't so one more bit of tablet news -- a take a break he is the Samsung. Have which you know that in its two existing forms the seven inch model. Which was first and the unveiled ten point one inch model -- unveiled at mobile world congress. But they have sent out and invite for. See an announcement they're gonna make that CTI eight in Orlando Florida march 22 I'll -- there. Four player up to date coverage atom. But it looks like they are -- canoe almost definitely announced an eight point nine inch model here so seven inch he point nine inch. -- -- -- -- Hopefully with honeycomb is in very kind of has a honeycomb backdrop there. Maybe -- -- even mean that there upgraded -- -- -- to any comment -- offense well that would be awesome it would be. Will have to wait and see that I am hopeful. Album -- after the break we will be back with all sorts of cool. And drew a dead virus Trojan. News so stable. Has split second news breaks stories unfold and the -- changes stint in the know everywhere you go. CBS radio's award winning all new stations are always live and online 24/7. XCBS radio dot com. RA and we're back he's. -- -- -- quickly and it's one good to him. That's -- just accounts of -- if they get back into the news. Got a story. Over. And now I think you do that come back -- differently and -- -- the leader in here and do good if attacks on his argument coming back embryo mother -- But we don't -- take breaks news keep on huge roll through -- ever take for. He breaks the for the week yes exactly decision the popular than steel -- can. Pretty much -- -- your secrets. Though it's been pretty big in the news this week. And we've got -- -- couple of malware infected apps. That have been creeping through the Android market. That basically have been. -- -- or -- that have been disguised as other at -- and what happens if people download these. And it kind of maliciously captures your information and and -- -- somewhere. On the Internet rate not only capture information -- and then download more code -- -- doing more stuff rate. So there -- -- -- -- battery that were discovered in question and a report. -- run the Android atlas -- blog by lance Whitney says that Google is actually. -- and used to kill switch to remove -- -- -- one apps from the market and apparently from. -- devices. -- that's a little scary but also gets little comforting that they can do that. Apparently the vulnerability is that this Trojan affected who has not been fixed -- was previously fixed and -- -- 222. -- But you know obviously most people or not are running 2.2. Oh or earlier at this point. And this is I guess -- of one of the you know things about open -- is when you fix something -- check in. Fixing it probably put a comment and they know we've fixed -- -- -- vulnerability. He anyone -- paying attention to you know chickens can now. I'm gonna take advantage of that thing happen to know that 80% of people are not -- -- an update. -- -- I think it's interesting that they were -- apparently able to pull -- off for the divisive. Remotely. Which is good -- -- -- the there's billions of -- -- like William the vast majority of end users who are paying attention to the day to -- -- news to news that. The that the apps were even out there. But yeah I courts in Canada the question. -- -- -- even know they could do this. I don't know I was -- they do this. That they people's stuff off here -- -- -- I guess I didn't know either. He would -- only affected fifty there are only 50000 total downloads -- probably percentage rises in little but it's still scary. -- -- somewhere where this might not happen ever is in the Amazon App Store which is expected launch later this month because. From what the rumors we've heard about -- Amazon App Store and they are gonna be of much more selective and careful about reviewing apps then. You know sort of Google's very open approach. So potentially those -- stuff for viruses and -- -- -- checks about what's actually happening. Which you know from Apple we've seen as good and bad parts to it. But very rarely in Apple's case do we see apps come out that are infected and earth something like that. So. Amazon App Store. You know. Could release -- shake up how -- capture card distributed because if there's one thing and Arizona writes had to do its distribution. -- so it it'll be a shame to see what happens here I definitely have. But some concerns that I'm curious about how they're actually gonna get App Store out to users because they can't put it in the market itself so the to sort of some kind of out of band distribution of it which -- limited. -- or do deals directly with manufacturers. And you know like -- -- after. Playing around is kind of unrelated but a little bit but after playing with -- their new the other video distribution service. I'm a little concerned with you know how they're gonna organize that market. And I think that the the -- Google marketplace. Is. -- line is actually a pretty good. Experience. He had no -- we got a lot better. Around -- to -- were -- run time here votes cover. Two -- more things the everybody's -- mobile messenger. That -- the well. -- maybe every TV shows -- of the mobile messenger Blackberry messenger. Yet ubiquitous BB MB BM just hit me up on BM -- Is potentially sounds like it's coming to Android. -- pretty weird -- Yeah book is -- kind of brim with one of their big selling point for Blackberry phones it was actually the the focus of -- ad campaign they did last year. Where they could be BM like -- -- upfront. And a feature that you can only get on. Blackberry phones you know put the rumors that it could end up line and -- and even Iowa's devices. You can have to wonder like while they do that. I don't know. This used -- talker AOL or Yahoo! which is actually available on all operating systems. -- always thought the deviant popularity with a little weird and had.
