The -- insane depending on who US -- mean this thing is this thing is loaded. Not only with ice cream sandwich but you know you have its dual core -- two gigahertz processor it has 1080. NF CE integration. Molly was a first a little bummed about its camera -- -- only five megapixels because you had said that. Well I think yeah I -- so. It does have a front facing camera and that about one point two -- -- by the big surprise to be -- the big flagship phone. Was a five megapixel camera and -- -- I understand that. It has -- the instant shutter technology that there's a lot of cameras stuff built into U. Ice cream sandwich and in fact -- in some side by side photos of the galaxy nexus camera with. Against the iPhone -- -- and very comparable in some cases it was even better I think that's fine I just think I was surprised by that because eight megapixel seems to be the new standard. And I wondered if it was a little bit of a trade off to that is a -- and despite. The fact that megapixels don't matter early eighties dude that's like the one speculate into this list and it to be -- not the fastest dual core processor around editor at sort of you know it is a dual core processor but it's not the top of the line. Model it's definitely not the single most tricked out piece of hardware you're gonna -- although -- -- and. But it's -- -- the potential iPhone four killer of the week. Of illegally alleluia confusion or I mean it's a four -- -- it has an FC any other to me when I look at the specs of the sky and I love its curved glass stinging. You know that's gonna be the new trend that we're gonna see moving forward Italian -- if there's a little bit and other than other then for me other than looking at this defining the camera I think this phone is. They -- me now on every level. You know. I'm just saying it's also wise it's also plain Jane Android which is awesome it is pure ice cream sandwich and ice cream -- To be honest though the hardware on this phone is -- -- it's very good right. But it's not likely set top of the line I think that really makes it does seem to be the site's content which operating system it's so much more refined than it has -- great it has a lot. Finally like a long long long overdue changes to the camera and -- gallery apps you'll get built in filters and two -- style. You'll get the actual camera button on the home screen. And then there's a ton of sort of new apps and features built a nice -- so much that that. Do indeed make it look pretty hot -- not thrilled about this and -- can tell -- no I don't know what it -- you know it is. I do notice. Yeah it's that I feel like there are fewer of those little -- compromises which I don't understand in their flagship phone -- this is your reference standard phone. That I don't understand why don't -- a top of the line processor they don't understand why you don't Max out the camera and the biggest drawback for me is that every video I've seen of it. The UI looks like people are sort of talk about -- -- are starting to talk about that and that's been a problem with Android. That's been an eye on every hundred for an action that's been an issue that when I play with them like it just -- it's not responsive it's. That little -- -- snapping this just isn't there. It's small it's subtle design it's yes and so subtle and it's also would be like white means a nit picky but it makes it makes a huge difference I read a great write up on somebody's blog that was basically just like under instant responsiveness is terrible. And outlet in as many words that -- Yes I'm Amy Allen the blogger Andy is not mincing words but He but He went through some of the -- early reviews -- looked like this is my next they how to align in their review that said. The UI seems to suffer from that sort of general sluggishness. That is character is characteristic of Android. And I just not like are you kidding. Is it and orders that all their hard work means just that no no hardware makers come up with the decent there's no way. -- it's a dual core processor unlike the iPhone four as it has one gig of internal ram like this phone it should be a screen. This is no reason. I just added that bummed me out so much and -- -- seriously I watch like. Ten videos -- just with my -- microphone or -- magnifying glass like. That pleases and inspecting the right now a lot of time -- -- An elephant up a -- -- I would wanna be on the other side and I understand has felt it interrogate people. It's really -- I mean. To be fair we will wait until we get an in house will definitely be trying and testing and I sent that I spent a lot -- herself an -- that -- Kent German and Napoleon -- please I'm begging you watch list. Watch for -- I will say spec -- it did completely -- the Portland Motorola RAZR -- -- to have its huge debut today at a bar that. Gingerbread and it's getting it was getting -- -- idle. -- eyesight hazard during early 2000. It would get -- intelligently to the other thing. That -- out about the got -- that they have liked to cater to -- -- waiting for the -- like. Was how -- is the release information. I know it's coming in November. The them no pricing. I don't know if they think it's okay but they're getting used the idea that a lot of these corporations are not giving us real -- in real prices until. Way after the fact I just think it patients up doing that -- -- -- I mean they they they really really want to and they really wanna stay ahead of the curve but they can't -- -- -- time and they have to show something in the title to their competitive and that they're still only game. But they still haven't I don't know what's better than an it's better come up with vapor -- and then -- you know sometime in the future -- It's art it's hard to say add another to get its amounts to raise the reverend thought that the one of those reasons and -- -- -- -- -- I have to say that give and a whole sort of history and -- -- and -- up till now and my sort of general feeling disappointment it makes me concerned. The first -- to do that that's also the only other phone with Bluetooth four point oh. Apple's iPhone forest has it why do people care about Bluetooth -- four Plano. It's lower its more energy efficient lower power consumption and now it has this feature are pretty much the Bluetooth chip itself. Can send data intermittently over a period of time so much -- like Wi-Fi how we have these -- devices this new Bluetooth four point oh standard. Is really gonna be able to talk to smart appliances through your phone. Control TVs work out with your phones and add data to you know let's server or website you can see that instantly what your -- -- -- worked out so. Although Bluetooth -- -- -- has a way to go for adoption as a candidate to keep features that -- out the drag racer. Yes there is lovely. It's beautiful phone. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Which is excellent but not NFC. If you're excited about the -- clip depicting it seems like that is going to be a real nexus feature for that for the short term but the RAZR. And this exciting has -- release -- and -- slated date it will be available in early November. For 299 dollars you can start to pre order on October 27 you know -- I like about that. And Anthony -- also this kind of data it has Kevlar on it. -- -- glass on the front and and nano technology coding that will repel water that's because I. So you could swim with it no such authority put in your pocket it could save you from mobile -- That's a little that it not be taken and -- but I don't like an -- issued an idea. This is bad news for -- because this is this is usually what you do after you've actually lost the patent lawsuit is you you try to design around the patent. And they're doing it before hand because they've been getting our butts kicked up and down by Apple so it's it's it's a really bad sign for their what they believe is their chances of winning -- Yeah -- -- even at that date day -- rates of themselves that. Although we've tried to design has to go around Apple's -- it still doesn't mean that we're necessarily. We are not subject Apple still Salinas you're still trying to put injunctions on our products from being sold in certain countries. -- there's a bunch of Ph.D.s lawyers that are going to be. Looking at the designs and then deciding why it's still infringes which has its going to so Julia we talk about this in the chat room and you can chimed in a few times. With all this with all these patent battles. -- really is do these companies like Apple are the really that vague or is there. They have every right to go after these other companies and stop them well under the current system they they have every right to do it and and it's built that way and and when you're putting together -- your your putting the broadest. You know possible patent you can possibly get through the patent office and and the issues right now is that. It's fairly easy to -- fairly easy but it's very possible to get a broad patent because the patent office doesn't do on extensive prior art searches they don't do a whole lot of stuff there and then they leave it to be challenged later. And so and and that's the problem is that we all go into this in these patents it's not really knowing whether or not to patents can stand up. And whether or not you know -- your gonna be able to show infringement so their. -- if you want to fix it you'd you'd sort of do it on the front end of issuing patents but then patent -- and take forever. -- -- it's part of the game that is writing an entry in a patent and that as broad as possible while still being specific enough so that it can get approved totally. And and that and and they're being of these these patent lawyers that are our prosecutors they just they just specialists and I've been. I do patent work but I'm not a patent lawyer so I'm I'm the guy that. -- brings the -- lawyer in and then it has the translation to the jury. And they'll be like well this is clear is that -- -- There's no way. Anybody on Nigeria's got to understand that -- I am nowhere near understanding that so. It's it's crazy language and they all sort of understand it but it's it's -- -- expert -- -- -- to send -- an interesting article actually from Android police in response to that statement. Apparently -- lawyers are concerned that. -- it and under police -- -- -- probably eight. Frankly -- -- a very very stupid thing to say in some -- right if He really did say this is designed to be patent proof that it might suggest. It might suggest that. Samsung knew that its other products were infringing. Might also challenge Apple in some ways to take a closer look at the county -- are now one of Samsung's mobile executives on -- Hong has -- Patents were not a big part of some things discussion when they -- the galaxy nexus. Kerry. And then fed. At the time this patent infringement was not really -- -- issue and many said I don't know where that rumors from. Yeah they're they're they're they're working and that the problem that they have they're getting all these injunctions in other countries in the US it's it's a little bit tougher from what I understand of the case on -- Yahoo! admitted -- -- -- that they've been on the ropes I haven't seen very many articles where they've come up on top on one of these fights and any real way. Even in the US that judge ruled in favor Apple for the design -- -- right so they just that Apple you just need to prove this a little harder next time. -- -- at one point oh you're almost there yet. -- -- -- as the road -- to how to get there. What what's the resolution of them and I talked to them in the -- look just like how original film was made when they moved from film on a piece of Paper you know adult film. So -- megapixels that there was no equivalent measurement of the image quality. Much like megapixels now can't -- necessarily translated. To mega raise. And right now this is an eleven -- -- a camera that's the you would assume that more mega -- means better image quality but you can't measure on a megapixel side now when you export these pictures and put on a TV. He did say they -- at least display you know in HD quality. And when you look at Sony's pictures you think. You know they -- look like around a one a two megapixel image from just like the overall visual -- quality of it but com. It's just. The cynic in me wonders if when they were coming up with -- meg re number -- and it's gotta be double digits because otherwise people think it's not. And apparently it has to sound out Victoria it's got an ornate until it was my -- -- like one megapixels Ebola. -- -- A one -- equal to one -- -- is just from all the way that images come across but it's it's fascinating next gen technology that -- you know. -- -- -- -- -- -- This we saw some shots of what the form -- look like in a shark puppet. And it looked long and this is you know because of the optics in the hardware inside -- it will you really realistically be able to miniaturized this down the line. So that we can see this. In cellphones in smaller cameras and right now they're not trying to license that there -- initial proof of concept -- -- in the future yeah they're probably licenses thing. But on He said as time goes on right it's gonna be more about the software that then emulates what some of its hardware does that southern and ideally be able to miniature resident will see it on my 23 years away from now but this product itself. -- -- this is the first of its kind of one of a kind. You can actually interact with someone's picture on their FaceBook feed all click on the full plate that's could not -- and it's that is the killer and -- point of this. We didn't get a showed in the video but when I saw that I'm like are you guys kidding me like that's what's gonna make this a selling point for. For people. Mom and dad it's messing around with your pictures like that that's it's crazy -- error winner also -- -- by compatible they showed it on an iPad running through their website. On -- every platform it's gonna be compatible want to interact with these what they call living pictures let out it was fun I was X I was I genuinely algae stuff when -- -- this that's. But I'm genuinely Amazon's news is new is a -- I was also -- -- -- the Mac that because it's unusually weak because I've Macs obviously waiting for this for the next software. You know who would be available could be right for this good work well the other folks -- would be nice in this ecosystem. And organically. It just came together very nice -- saw in the -- Until we got scapegoat -- -- -- -- solar escape learning on the set -- Aaron it's the escape routes that so obvious. So -- -- -- -- -- -- -- see -- so that's that's the -- nation and in a -- Comcast has been a terrific partner. They. Look at this -- say. You know obviously an experiment. When you find people -- -- good storyteller as they get them and new platform environment to tell their stories and authentic and genuine manner. Internet media -- of the viral social revolution and -- merging these two things together and even with -- -- -- you're doing. How how do you think the bigger studios are -- to -- -- really care and look at Internet media. As a viable. Option as a viable part of the entire media landscape because that's -- of one of those things where it's -- almost prove itself in your in the center of that. You know -- it's. A long. Long. -- -- you have to keep in mind when your. First -- live. Participatory media are. Live broadcasting on line back in 1996. With properties like -- -- in the to entry and basketball. It is really helped a lot about how. How do you do you this. And I was always an advocate of why are we gaining this what is it that we want -- accomplished now the how is no longer a problem you know you can start. Telling stories live from your mobile phone if you'd like and it's there's no technology. And com bring you from doing -- Also how is not so much an issue it's it's how you tell the story is more -- an -- as well as -- -- technologies. In terms of the the studios and major media networks off I think it's attrition over time as some of the folks that. You know keep in mind there's a lot of folks that are running media organizations. And when they came in television as the new -- right. And it -- years before television was adopted by quote unquote Hollywood. And if there's a funny story that. I heard yesterday at digital Hollywood. On how they used to promote movies which was. Yet there is television which is a great medium to promote movies and instead of using television to promote movies in your local market. They would operate its Charlton Heston could show up -- looks -- through the back yes. East -- were terrified. Other movie trailers aren't -- in the -- the trailer and it. Promotion on television because they were afraid of TV animal lives in the movie -- so now boards. As proven to be the opposite. -- situation and I think. The Internet and end delivery devices such as the screens that you see on web mobile and tablets. Are slowly but surely being -- so glad -- waited long -- -- answer is it's attrition. As sort of the older people go. Out of the business are the ones that don't adopt the new mediums. Disappear. All the the other folks that you understand that it's really all about telling great stories and it's an all media -- as opposed segmenting it off its parts. Will be in a position to really decent -- work. And I'm kind of before they go I'm really interested in this idea of that this new wave of talent right and and -- and ideas that. Authenticity taste makers is -- that comes up a lot but that. That what we're trying to find is that people are actually authentic as opposed to people who are necessarily trained. For -- television can you talk a little bit about how like the in some ways web distribution seems to break down the barriers between what we used to think of his talent. And requires a higher level of engagement and intelligence maybe than -- -- maybe. About -- I'm not stranded you know. Say anything about -- about -- I mean you look at what you guys do -- for a living right wait -- you guys you. -- -- it's a different form of talent right to be able to conduct an interview and to. Understand what's involved -- that to be a journalist is a certain set of skill -- right. To have you go out and be say a video blogger or telling these first person perspective feature -- May not be the type of storytelling that works for you there's very few people that can do say. Our movie and entrance and over two comedy right so it's -- genres of storytelling that is appropriate for different types talent. Com and what's great about the web or any time online medium. Is the simple fact that it's a two way indeed it's -- self publishing platform so those those folks are out there. But as a producer we still have to find folks that can deliver. For example -- on time. You know there is a certain level of professionalism when you -- -- hurt yourself from just someone who's doing as a fun hobby. It's being paid to do sell and doing in a professional environment so there are those considerations. That everyone has taken to -- So you can be the most authentic person in the world but still you need to be on schedule you still need to be able to work with other people to get things done -- Even the top -- -- out there. There's they have -- teen. Working with them in some way shape or form. You may not know that but there is team -- and an order for them to get to where they are. It it's a collaborative medium and that's one thing we all have to remember about what we do it's -- meaning everything from talent to the producers. Down to the engineer who makes you set target or the director photography -- makes you look good. Once you're on camera there's a whole different content. Approached even if you're a little flip plans to examine shooting and editing and doing all these things yourself which by the way a lot -- blockers work. Once we started getting this infrastructure -- place for them. -- video Scott tremendously better now what I mean by that -- we didn't force them to change stories. We want -- that's just still be down but we enable them. The tell the stories from more compelling manner all the way from editorials -- being able to help them with music selections and clearing. -- 200000 music. You see it with a company like maker studio -- I think it's terrific in doing a lot of great work and really looming talent.
