Dell's Inspiron 17R SE packs high-end components
I'm Dan Ackerman and I am sitting here with the Dell Inspiron 17 -- all or SE now that is a mouthful -- -- -- figure out which part.
Of Dell's laptop line this is first its an Inspiron as opposed to more high -- X.
XPS line.
Secondly it's an Inspiron seventeen which means it's a big seventeen inch desktop replacement that found signs -- really even see that often anymore.
That is an Inspiron.
And finally is an Inspiron RSE. Which stands for I -- special edition.
Which means that they've actually pack -- higher and components into what is basically they're more budget priced body.
And that the first reaction I've -- from anyone who has seen this laptop from the moment we took it out of boxes wow that thing is big and thick.
And not even so much that this seventeen -- dot.
Is remarkably bigger -- thicker.
Then seventeen inch desktop replacement were last year the year before the year before that.
It's just that people's expectations. And conceptions of what a laptop could be it really change a lot thanks to -- books a lot of other thin laptops.
In fact a lot of those ultra book style laptops are getting to be bigger fifteen to sixteen inches we've even seen.
Some fairly slim under one -- seventeen -- inch laptops.
I this is not this is an inch and a half and I at the back of it making it pretty much the.
Biggest desktop replacement we've seen in quite a while and frankly just looks like a big plastic -- now.
I even though it's not the most attractive system under the sun it is.
Packed with some pretty high end component you've got a Quad Core core I seven CPU.
And an Nvidia GeForce 650 M graphics card along with a one terabyte hard drive.
All that packed in here it's 1099. Which is -- -- -- a budget price flat -- of all time but if you think about all the time component.
That's usually a couple of hundred dollars less -- you get the same set -- work from somebody else.
Even without moving into the more rarefied air of a boutique and a laptop maker like dells -- Alienware brand or origin -- means you're somebody like that.
So which -- is a very powerful lapped up.
In a little bit of a budget bodies so you're willing to go for the components rather than look and feel.
Either is actually good deal and -- pretty good at being -- -- high end gaming it's got a 1080.
I feel it's great for HD video as well if you spend another 200 dollars you can trade up to not actually 3-D screen and you get a Blu-ray drive along with that.
I'm Dan Ackerman and that is the Dell Inspiron seventeen RSP.
