Prizefight: Dell XPS 13 vs. HP Folio 134:21 /
It's a Prizefight punchout between two of the top ultrabooks on the market. Will the HP Folio 13 stand a chance against Dell's XPS 13 and its sleek design?
What's up price (five?) fans. I'm Brian (Thong?) the highest category in laptops are ultra books. They're slick, they're slim and we're bringing you the (crem dela crem?) to the price five ring. There's a price by punch out between a Dell XPS13 and the HP Folio 13th. Our (??) for this fight are Senior Editor Dan Packman (Acroman?) the associate editor of Julie, the Million dollar Baby Rivera and Brian the (Thong Song Thong?). That will take all three judges blind scores and it's about (??) to drown the final price by score would be average of all around with the same decimal system. Let's get to started. Round one is design. Dell has no shame with XPS 13th and brings with the best looking mac book air (knock?) up we've seen so far. It has a thin (beasel?) around it's screen and Dell really deserves (kudos?) for fitting a 13 inch screen into a surprising smaller foot print. Now the sturdy machine and a little bit top is aluminum, it's bottom is rubberize with a carbon fiber design. Now HP Folio 13 brings a larger foot print a thicker business like no non sense design. The translation for that is square but still slicking attractive. Now it's slightly heavier in weight but it's standard size keyboard feels more comfortable even if it's settled. Dell XPS 13 bring a little more sex appeal even if we have seen it before and it takes this round with a four and HP Folio's 13 gets a three. Next round is features. Dell's XPS 13 is minimal as and we mean it in every sense of the word. It bring two USB ports, a display port out and a head phone jack. Now there's no SD card slot or ethernet port or anything else that's it. Now the HP Folio 13 gives us something more to chew on with a dedicated HMC out and the SD card slot and ethernet port on just one side with two USB ports (total?) and a head phone jack. Both machines bring webcams and back lick keyboards but there's a clear winner here. HP takes us round with a 3.3 with a (bear?) essentials and Dell get's a well deserved too. So after (??) two rounds the HP Folio leads by 2/10s of a point. Next round it performance. Both of these laptops come with an intel core i5 low voltage 1.6 Giga hertz processor with 4 gigs RAM. Now numbers don't lie and we put these ultra books to a CNET's own test so check out the results and a multi media multi tasking test, are adobe photo shops CS five test and or Apple iTunes encoding test both ultra books were within seconds of each other and you can pretty much call this even. We're handing out force across the board and calling this one a tie. Next round is battery life. Ultra books are the new thing because they are ultra portable without sacrificing the performance but one of the most important metrics is battery life. Now after running CNET's own video play back battery drain test the HP Folio 13 shines with just under 6 hours of battery life and the Dell XPS 13 scores just a tag bit under 5 hours. Now an hour makes a real world difference here and the HP Folio gets a 4 and a Dell XPS gets a three. So after (??) four rounds, HP has increase it's lead to 3/10s of a point but it's not over. The final round that decides it all is value. So let's look at the numbers, the Dell XPS 13 starts at 999 with it's sexy design. The HP Folio 13 starts at 899 where you're getting pretty much identical performance with more features and almost an hour better in battery life. And you'll be hard press to find any ultra book that's comparable to the Folio 13 at this price. HP takes the final round with a perfect 5 and Dell gets a 3.3. So let's (??) all five rounds and then the price by the look good early HP surge ahead thanks to it's battery life and over all value and the Folio 13 takes this battle 3.9 to 3.3 and it's your price five winner. The Folio 13 may not be the sexiest ultra book on the market but it really delivers on everything you guys wanting a laptop. I'm Brian (Thong?). Thanks for watching. We'll catch you guys next time on another price (slot?)...
