Welcome to the Deep Dive of the 2017 Toyota Corolla with the Intune Audio Plus Infotainment and connected navigation.
NOw the system is pretty easy to use but it's also pretty dated and Toyota is one of the last manufacturers to not offer apple car play and androided auto.
My SE turn lined gets a seven inch touch screen standard with a customized home screen, so I just go ahead and press settings, home screen, I can choose between two or three panels and I can put what information I want where I want it.
So I don't really want weather there, I would like my phone.
OK and then I can easily insert whatever contacts I might find useful like my mom.
Well there is an audio button to the left of the screen.
I can also access it from the app screen.
Presets are really easy to set and the buttons are pretty large so it's easy to change stations on the fly.
If I want to listen to stuff from my phone, I just press Source And I can listen to it either from Bluetooth or from the USB port.
The phone button is where I paired my phone with the car.
It shows me my call history, my contact.
There's really nothing new here.
But moving on to messages, that's where things get a little tricky.
It asked me if I wanna set up messages.
I say yes.
Then I get this screen which says I may need to operate my device, and to wait.
So I just wait, and I wait, and i wait.
And then nothing happens.
So very curious, Toyota, very curious.

The Eco button is where it shows how awesome I am at saving the planet.
And going back, I have a general setup page where I can customize My voice, the display, your Bluetooth things of that nature.
There is a traffic button that shows you a general idea of what's going on.
But there's no pinch and zoom quality, and the graphics are kind Kinda bad.
And when I go into weather, I can check my current weather here, oo, 52 degrees.
I can also check locations around me or national.
So let's check that out Akron Ohio.
Wow, 72.
Ohio's hotter than California, what.
Now, only the top two trim lines of the Corolla get integrated navigation.
For the rest of us, we have to use this Scout GPS on your phone.
So, I've got it open here.
I'm just gonna press it on the screen there.
It's pretty easy to use, but it does use up your data.
Go ahead and click Search and there's where I can enter my address or search for POIs, but I always like to put in ice cream just to see what's around.
Now unfortunately, these inputs are pretty slow but there is a voice recognition system but it's okay.
So let's search for ice cream, see what's going on.
Come on, yes, Baskin-Robbins, click on that.
And drive.
Now I do get the option of looking at a map when I'm choosing my drive.
But once I go ahead and select go, that map goes away and all I get are turn by turn directions.
And it's kind of a bummer to not have a full map while I'm driving.
Now, Toyota could make their system a little bit more simple by including Apple Car Play or Android Auto, but, on the whole, the Entune system is not bad.
Could use some updated graphics, and it would be nice to have integrated navigation at least as an option for the lower trim lines.
But, on the whole, the Entune system gets the job done with a minimum amount of fuss.
