Tech Minute: Concert apps that rock1:05 /
The summer concert and festival season is in full swing. Before going to see your favorite band, load your smartphone with apps that can enhance the concert experience. CNET's Kara Tsuboi picks out a few of her favorites in this Tech Minute.
[MUSIC] Enjoy that live version of your favorite song by recording it to the app Light, a free download for both iPhones and Android. What's cool about the app are the filters, easy editing tools and simple uploading to social media. If you and all of your friends use the same app, you can share each other's video to create on epic movie of the concert. Sometimes the toughest part of going to a concert or festival is keeping track of your friends, where you parked, and the cleanest restroom. Glympse has a great free app for Androids and iPhones that lets you send your location to friends so they can track your whereabouts for a set amount of time. With zLocation, another free app for both phones, users can drop pins at crucial spots on the map, like those clean bathrooms. Finally, if you always seem to find out about a great concert after it happens, download the $2 iPhone app, BandMate. BandMate will comb through your music collection and let you know if any of those artists are performing anytime soon in your area. It'll also make recommendations for other shows based on your music taste. In San Francisco, I'm Kara Tsuboi, cnet.com for CBS News.
