Cadillac XTS concept

>> No, there's no denying Cadillac is GM's success story over the last handful of years. No two ways about it. Part of it is a very sharp, very focused redesign of their cars. Now, here is a very large car getting that same Cadillac treatment. Bear in mind, currently you've got the DTS still at the top of the line for largeness. It doesn't look like any other Cadillac. Like it's got a different mother or something. Now, to my mind, this is a great DTS replacement. Cadillac's not talking their way. They're thinking more like well, think what it would do to 7-Series and S-Class. Well, either way, however this is aimed, it's a vehicle that's got a big presence, but not all that much enormousness in its dimensions. For example, it's got a four-inch shorter overall length and four-inch shorter wheelbase than the current DTS, but still in the same basic size and volume package. You can see a lot of the Qs of current Cadillac going on here with the bladed headlights, the sharp creases, almost got one of those four-door coupe rooflines going on here as well. In terms of the interior packaging, Cadillac says think of it not so much as a rolling country club, but a rolling executive office. So they've got a really sharp finely-tuned look inside. And just about everything is touch panel OLED. There are very few dedicated buttons in this concept, but look at that OLED instrument panel in the front. We've seen that on Jag and Land Rover, but it's still pretty cutting edge stuff. Same thing would go for the center console. And here in the rear, you can see a real Cadillac signature carried over, those motorized pop-up screens for the rear seat entertainment. We've seen that before on current production front console and navigation systems. Now, power for this guy, as you can see right here, it's a hybrid, 3.6 liter, direct injection, gas V6 coupled with electric motor, all wheel drive, by the way. They're figuring maybe 350 horsepower and about 300 foot pounds of torque. Not crazy over-the-top numbers, even though it's a car that is definitely a big statement car. But they believe by the time this vehicle comes to market, maybe in a few years, who knows, the customer that it's aimed at is going to be looking for a less ostentatious and smarter statement about a car in this category.
