Tech Industry: BMW signs up with Nvidia for navigation

0:44 /

Nvidia and BMW announced a partnership at CES 2011 in which next generation BMW infotainment systems will be powered by Nvidia's Tegra processor. Nvidia showed off a navigation concept in a BMW 550i at the show.

-I'm Wayne Cunningham for CNET. This is the new navigation system that could appear in BMW's new cars. BMW just signed a deal with NVIDIA to provide their Tegra 2 processor in next-generation BMW navigation systems. This is a concept which we are looking at in a BMW 550. This concept in navigation system is built by a company called Visioglobe, although it is not specified that BMW will actually use this company for their navigation systems, but this demonstrates what the NVIDIA Tegra processor can do in a BMW with real 3D navigation. I'm Wayne Cunningham for CNET.
