Tap That App: BestTube: Youtube in your pocket

1:40 /

Download and save YouTube videos to your Android phone so you can watch them any time.

Welcome to Tap that App, Im Brian Tong and this is the show where we cover the hottest apps in the mobile space. We all love watching YouTube videos on the go but what if you want to save those videos to your phone so you can watch the highest quality version anytime. Check out a FREE app in the Android Marketplace called BestTube by jared.w.smith for Android phones. The app showcases the most popular and top rated videos but you can also search for a video that youre looking for. Once youve found it youll have the option to Preview it or download it directly to your phones SD card. Youll want to make sure youre on WiFi when you use this app, because the quality of the file will depend on your phones current bandwidth and EDGE or 3G can be iffy. Now, once its downloaded you can view your favorite YouTube videos whenever and wherever you want. And if you use a long press youll also have other options to save the file as an mp3, or copy and rename it. Its a free app, but one negative is the ad banner that appears over each downloaded video. If you click on it once, itll take you to another screen, but it will never show up again. There arent any apps like this available through the iPhone, Pre or Blackberrys Official App Stores so it makes Best Tube unique and easy to set up. If youre looking to save those YouTube videos you just cant get enough of then go with Best Tube, and best of all, Its FREE. If you have any other apps or dance moves youd like to see send us along and email to tapthatapp@cnet.com. Im Brian Tong thanks for watching and well see you next time.
