>> Tom Merritt: Welcome to CNET Top Five where each time we meet we countdown another hot CNET list, I'm Tom Merritt. Now we already counted down the worst products of the year in our earlier Tech Turkey's edition of Top Five, oh the memories. But now let's get positive. Put on your rose colored glasses, crank up your Jason Miraz [assumed spelling] and stick a flower in your hair hippie. It's time for love fest. Let's count down the top five best products of 2009. And number 5 the Nvidia GeForce GTX 295. When we reviewed it in January of 09 it was the single fastest 3D card on the market and if you didn't care that it was a power hog there wasn't anything else wrong with it. Now that may not be very green but then you were going to blow up aliens and Nazis with it anyway, not play simmer. Coming into number 4 the Klipsch Image S4 Earphones. For less than $100 you cannot find any other ear buds that sound better. Our reviewer, Jasmine France said...
>> Jasmine: These headphones sound simply fantastic.
>> Tom: Now if only they came with the indestructible wire that would never short out they might win a Nobel Peace Prize. Up to number 3 the Apple iPod Touch. The third generation still king of the portable Wi-Fi enabled video players backed by the rather popular iTunes store filled with TV, movies, apps, music. The Zune is closing the gap but hasn't caught the iPod yet. Sliding into number 2 the Sennheiser HD800--another pair of headphones. Our reviewer Steve Guttenberg said they're the closest thing to listening to full size speakers than any other headphones we've seen. Now they're a little pricey at $1500 bucks but they're worth it. Before we get to number 1 time for another lame prize. Answer the lame prize question at blog.cnettv.com in the comments of the post for this top five, and we'll draw a winner from one of the first ten people to get it right. And you'll win a Belkin USB Hub. I know but we have to have a better prize for the best products Top Five. Here's the question: What was our top rated product of 2008. Hint--it got a 9.3 out of 10 and was body only. Okay let's get to our number 1 the top rated product for 2009 an Editor's choice in its category obviously--number 1--it's the Logitech Performance Mouse MX. Works on glass, it's wireless, it's rechargeable, has useful customizable buttons. CNET's Rich Brown called it a justifiable indulgence for anyone who takes their cursor control seriously and I do. So I use one and it's awesome. That's it for this edition of CNET Top Five. Don't forget to answer the lame prize question for a chance to win this Belkin USB Hub. It's got four ports. I'm Tom Merritt. See you next time.
