AutoComplete for July 20, 2016: Kia brings Apple CarPlay, Android Auto to cars via DIY update

Here's what's making news at Road Show.
If you own a recent Kia with navigation or their [INAUDIBLE] touch screen system, you could be eligible for a free software update soon, that will give you Apple Car Play and Android auto smart phone connectivity.
You can register for it now at their owner's website, myuvo.com, and you'll be notified soon when it's ready for download to a USB drive that you take to your car to install yourself.
China's tapping the brakes on autonomous car development.
Their auto regulatory body has asked car makers to hold up for a bit on testing self driving cars on Chinese highways giving a chance for national regulations to catch up.
Like the US, China currently only has draft national regulations right now.
Car makers have been crying out for national policies to get made.
So they aren't dealing with a morass of state level code the way they had to navigate emissions regulations a decade or so ago.
And sources are telling Auto Car that McLaren will son build the son F1, a spiritual successor to the three seat tech forward supercar of the '90s that really reinvented the McLaren brand.
The new F1 isn't expected to topple the P1, but rather be the most powerful GT ever built.
And yes, it will resurrect the triangular seating configuration when it likely arrives in 2018.
