First Look: Audio-Technica ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint headphones

1:16 /

The Audio-Technica QuietPoint ATH-ANC1 headphones are a great option for frequent fliers, thanks to their compact, lightweight design, noise cancellation functionality, and good overall sound quality.

>> Jasmine: If you're operating on a tight budget it can be tough to find a travel friendly pair of headphones that is both comfortable and capable of providing that noise hushing ability that's necessary to maintain your sanity on long trips. I'm Jasmine France for CNET and I may have just the solution for you, the Audio-Technica Quiet Point ATH-ANC1 noise-cancelling headphones. I have to say I'm really pleased with these headphones on the whole. You can find them for close to $100 online, which in the scheme of noise-cancelling headphones is actually quite affordable. Add to that the fact that these offer a clear and balanced audio with a nice tight low end and I'm hard pressed not to recommend them. They're even quite comfortable though I do take some issue with the design namely the headband which is admirably flexible but it's coated in a rubberized plastic material and has no padding; this could cause problems for some. However, the ultra small ear cups are padded and don't put too much pressure on the ears. The other minor gripe is that the headband is fairly thin and may be prone to breakage. Still I appreciate the understated style and the fact that the headphones fold down compactly for storage and include a soft carrying pouch. Overall they're a great buy. This has been a first look at the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC1 Headphones. ^E00:01:12
