At CES 2008, Brian Tong takes a look at the superslick Archos 705 WiFi, a media player packed with killer features.

[ music ] ^M00:00:04 [ background music ] >> Hey what's up guys? This is Brian Tong with CNET, here at CES two double oh eight. And what I have in my hand is the latest and hottest in Wi-Fi portable media players. This is the Arcos 705 Wi-Fi. Now right off the bat, what do you see that's different from previous models? Well the design is super slick. Before they had a row of buttons over here, but now they've cleaned it up. It's a full seven inch touch screen, resolution 800 x 480. So that's gonna be super nice. The quality of the screen also looks really good, the colors are bright and vivid. So you can see all that over there. Now some of the other things they did with the Arcos 705 is they've bumped up the hard drive storage. So we have 80 gigs for the entry level model, and then you have 160 gigs for the higher end model. So you've got a lot of space to pack all your media. So let's take a look inside, and see what we have. So on the screen, if you're used to the Arcos player, you'll have their nice home screen where they lay out basically all your key functions that you want to jump into. So what we have here is you can see videos, music, photos. And now if you want to stream files from your home network on connected PCs or Macs, you can get those files from there. Down over here, one of the hot features of the Arcos 705 is the fact that you can also download wirelessly movies from the Cinema Now movie portal. So you could just get movies wirelessly. You can't do that anywhere else. Okay, here we go. Web browser, because it's a Wi-Fi product. And then over here, using their DVR station, this is another killer feature that the Arcos line has. You dock it into a DVR station, you can record TV programs, watch them wherever you go. Another slick feature that the Arcos Wi-Fi does have is the fact that on the back it has a little stand over here. So I'm just gonna flip it out and drop it there, so you'll be able to use it, oops sorry, there we go. And you'll be able to use it you know, in an airplane, or have your kids check it out in the car. So it's really handy, the screen size is great. And I like it a lot. [ background music ] Now price points, we're talking about three ninety nine for the 80 gig model, we're talking four ninety nine for the 160 gig model. So there you have it.
