2:26 /

Hundreds of fans lined up in anticipation of the latest Apple store, which has garnered the kind of attention typically reserved for the latest iPhone or iPad.

Speaker 1: Hi. I'm Roger Chang senior writer with CNET.com. And we're here at Grand Central Terminal for the new opening of the Grand Central Apple store. Normally reserve for this... he kind of funfare that you get at new product lines. The opening of the store similarly drew in hundreds of fans eagerly waiting to be the first to get in for the new store here. The first person actually waiting more than 24 hours. As you could tell the Grand Central store is unique to other New York stores. This was less glass and more integrated with the Grand Central motif in look. The Apple Store occupies the North and Northeast balconies of Grand Central terminal overlooking the main concord, so you've got a nice view of the Central terminal's base and all the passengers going through as you do your shopping. Now, if you just / bars and what's new for Apple is a personal pick up area. Basically, you can order a product a MacBook and iPhone accessories on your iPone with an app on the way here. When you get to the station, you can actually pick it up right away. We're here in with an Apple fan checking out the Grand Central store for the first time. Sir, what's your name? Speaker 2: Hector Nieves. Speaker 1: Hector, what do you think of the store so far? Speaker 2: I think it's awesome. I think it's been long overdue here in the Grand Central area where the heart of New York is. Speaker 1: And what... what's the feeling like walking in with all the people clapping around you? Speaker 2: I see Steve Jobs as our (??), so it was... it was quite emotional moment coming in. Everybody was clapping you know, so it was awesome. Speaker 1: I'm here with Apple fan, Brian who's checking out the Grand Central store for the first time. So Brian, what are your first impressions of the store? Speaker 3: Excellent. Speaker 1: What do you like about it? Speaker 3: The lay out and the fact that it's unique and it provides us a unique experience with those people who love Apple related products. Speaker 1: I'm here with Stan at the Grand Central Apple store. Stan what do you think of the store? Speaker 4: The store is great. I really saw it and I was just amazed that you could put so much in a train station of all places. The store was really good because it has everything that an Apple has, iPads, Macs, Genius Bar or whatever, but also it kept a lot of the decor in Grand Central which it makes a very interesting store environment. Speaker 1: Given it's location, it's sure to get a ton of customers as passengers coming in and out of New York stop by and check out the store. For CNet.com, I'm Roger Chang.
