Tech Industry: Alcatel's Scribe HD intros a new quad-core player

1:10 /

The first smartphone running MediaTek's new quad-core processor marks a CES debut.

-Hey everyone. This is Jessica Dolcourt from CNET here at CES 2013. I've got in my hands the Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD. This is an Android 4.1 Jellybean phone. It's got a very large 5-inch LCD display, 720p HD. So it's 1280x720 resolution. Looks really good in my hands, it's got white exterior here on the back, 8 megapixel camera that kind of pops away from the body. Otherwise, it is a very thin phone. This is a quad-core phone and in fact it is the first one to use media text new quad-core processor in it. So that is something new. It also has a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. No carrier or announcements or pricing yet but it will come to the U.S. Look for it in about the second half of the year. This is Jessica Dolcourt for CNET. This has been the Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD. You can check out all of our CES news at cnet.com.
