Car Tech Video: 2014 Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive

0:52 /

Perhaps the wildest electric production car on earth.

We showed you the SLS E-Cell, electric prototype about a year ago. You recall the color. Here's what it looks like, now heading into production, stunning. An electric moderate each wheel totals 740 directly coupled horsepower and about the same number for torque. Zero to 60 and 3.9 which interestingly isn't as fast as the gas engine variant. But this one will fill e-really quick as it silently goes by its business. Now, a slow charge will take you 20 hours but with a special higher rate charger, you can get that down to three, $537,000 when it hit showrooms in June 2013 for about a second.
