When high-tech and high-efficiency meet, the result can be rather startling.
Over the past ten years Lexus has been hard at work trying to shed the Grandpa's color image trading and soft luxury -- premium sports. With the 2013 G yes Lexus -- a new high performance handling and cabin technology. Throw in a hybrid power train -- have one of the best techies stands around. This is the 2013 Lexus GS -- fifty age. And an open in the room that -- the Lexus is. -- experience while point three inch LCD. Most of the time the screen -- -- -- it shows a Mac a map or whatever the main function is on the left side. The right side you get this. Small drug -- screen which as you may be the music that's -- right now ports as an energy monitor your trip information. And control stuff on the screen with this little controller right here which. I think it should have a more solid fuel given that this is -- pretty high end car and also it's sometimes hard to. Hit the buttons on the screen and really. Hit the mark you want it but another way to control -- and voice command and this car has excellent ways to -- -- -- at that but on the steering wheel. -- could be changed to -- menu -- play artist Fleetwood Mac. -- Mac. But we also have the Lexus and -- system here but that's very similar to -- -- -- and tune system. So what that is that's that's Lexus is app integration strategy. -- -- app is running on my iPhone. And that's that -- to the current award Bluetooth paired it'll also work -- it's -- into the car. So I've got -- -- screen launch here I -- apps like pandora. Open table Yelp -- -- about being searched. And the cool thing about being -- that I also can do voice search with that I can actually use the the voice command button on the street will I have to go to this little. The reason why they do that is port injection is quieter and -- uses port injection image and is running at slower speed. Because the direct injection which is lot more efficient when it's running -- higher -- its. Along with -- engine they add this hybrid system and the system all combine produces three and 38 horsepower. At the bit more than the V6 a little less than the -- but the real win here is you've got thirty miles per gallon average that's what we've been getting. And that makes handle actually surprisingly well and the hybrid power train actually gives little a lot more power than a standard six. You get that. And it's got app integration with all those other. Cabin tech features it's all around a great tech car and -- no problem giving it -- editor's choice.
