>> Okay, so here's an Audi hotrod, and also perhaps the most gorgeous car they make these days. Take the five and make it an RS -- not just an S. This one really moves around: 4.2 liter V-8. Naturally aspirated; no tricks here. 450 horsepower, a relatively thin 317 foot-pounds of torque, so you're gonna wanna rev this guy, and judging by the 8,400 RPM red line, that will be a pleasure. You've got the Quattro system, of course. Also an optional torque-vectoring rear differential. That's kind of a new hot trend these days, is to work the torque differently to the rear wheels to allow your car to sort of yaw [phonetic] in the corners. It's a performance version of what used to be under the rubric of traction control and that sort of safety stuff. The seats are very aggressive. They remind me of those racing shells we saw in the Bentley Continental Super Sports. Hopefully not quiet as punishing, but you can see they really are not about a casual drive. Here's the business end of any RS car: the engine bay. V-8, 4.2-liter direct injected gas engine. No turbo, no blower; just doing it the old-fashioned way. Earning it with everything else done just right. Yeah, that is real carbon fiber. That's a splashy little detail. But this is one of those few engines today that looks great without some big cover on it. The red valve covers, the carbon fiber here and just a general engineered look. Not a lot of companies do it like Audi. Output is 450 horsepower, a relatively thin 317 foot-pounds of torque. But this guy's a revver. Check out the tach. Yeah, that red line's about 8,400 RPM, and it wants to go all the way there. So you'll spin this one rather than grunt it. There's a DCT: dual clutch, automated manual transmission in the console. We love the way Audi does these. I also spot the, I think, vastly overpriced B and O [phonetic] audio system, but that's a matter of taste. And in a way, none of this matters because there are no immediate plans to bring this to the US. So if you're one of our US viewers, this is a 77,000-year-old beauty that you'll just have to hope gets our way one day. But it comes out for the Europeans and other markets spring 2010. Nice little car.
