Panasonic AS530 LCD is a decent buy: First Look
First Look: Panasonic AS530 LCD is a decent buy1:15 /
The Panasonic AS530 series LCD ain't no plasma but it offers attractive design and decent image quality for a budget price.
Hi, I'm Ty Pendlebury, and this is the review of the Panasonic AS530 series television. Panasonic may be flying without plasma anymore, but based on the performance of this AS530 it might, just might, do okay. This is a budget LCD which dispenses with a few features in order to keep the price down. Particularly 3D. But no one really wants that in a TV anyway. This is an attractive television with a thin black bezel and cool looking stand. The remove control that comes with it is pretty straightforward to use and elegant as well. The TV offers Smart TV but the interface is a little stuffy looking and the sign up process is unusually painful. If you like using calendars and sending text to your television, this could be for you. While this model lacks the local [INAUDIBLE] sound on the equivalently prices [INAUDIBLE] M series it's in line with it's Asian brand name competitor for picture quality. Black levels are pretty good and so is all important shadow detail. Colors are decent though TV's by Sony and Samsung can beat it by naturalness. While my go to at this price would be the Video M series the AS530 is still pretty good at what it does. It's been Todd Pendlebrief at cnet.com.
