First Look: AT&T's Asus PadFone X handset does double-duty as a 9-inch tablet

Sporting a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and 13-megapixel lens, the 5-inch PadFone X smartphone can dock directly into a tablet for a more immersive experience.

Hi everybody it's Lynn La for CNET and today I'm gonna check out a unique 2 in 1 device known as the Asus PadFone X. Available on AT & T the PadFone X is a smartphone that can be docked into a table. The handset itself is equipped with a 5 inch full HD. Display, with a 1920 by 1080 pixel resolution. It runs Android 4.4.2 kit kat, and it has a [UNKNOWN] unique and playful user interface, overlay on top of it. On the back, the 4g LTE phone, has a 13 mega pixel camera, and it also has a front facing two mega pixel shooter. Additional features include 16 gigs of internal storage that's expandable up to 64 gigs via a micro SD card slot. And 2 gigabytes of ram. Now the hand set itself it powered by a 2.3 anti hour battery. But when you dock it into it's tablet component, you can also charge the phone using the tablets 4.99 anti hour battery. This will increase your reported talk time from 20 hours to 54. As for the tablet part of the device it has a 9 inch full HD display, a one mega pixel front facing camera and duel speakers. You could still make calls from the tablet and all your accessing together. But aside from the batter, it's completely dependent on the phone to run. But don't worry, the phone's 2.3 gigahertz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor is enough to power whatever apps and games you want to play on both the phone and the tablet. Currently. the bundle is available for $200 with. Your contract, or $550 without. You can also purchase a bunch of accessories, including a $100 keyboard dock.
