Soon you're going to see much faster Internet while using a mobile hotspot, thanks to what Huawei announced at Mobile World Congress: the Huawei E5786 4G-LTE mobile hotspot, commonly known as a MiFi.

Double the speed, dual-band Wi-Fi This is the next generation of mobile hotspot thanks to the support for the dual-stream specification of the 802.11n standard. This means it supports the connection speed of up to 300Mbps. All mobile hotspots so far support just the single stream specification, which caps at just 150Mbps. On top of that, the Huawei E5786 is also the very first mobile hotspot device that supports true dual-band, meaning it works on both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequency band at the same time.

On the cellular side, the device support the lastest standard of 4G-LTE and, according to Huawei, offers the top Internet speed of up to 300Mbps for download and up to 100Mbps for upload. The actual speed, of course, depends on the carrier and area of coverage, but nonetheless this means consumers now have a huge ceiling of speeds, both for the local Wi-Fi, as well as cellular Internet, to look forward to.

Powerful battery, juice pack capable The main reason that up to now all other hotspot devices supported the slower speed of Wi-Fi was the battery life. The faster the speed the device supports, the shorter its battery life gets. The Huawei E5786 manages to overcome this challenge by having a powerful 3,000mAh battery that promises to offer some 10 hours of usage on one charge and up to 500 hours of standby.

What's even more impressive is the fact that you can also use the Huawei E5786 as a portable juice pack to more than top off an iPhone 5, even from empty. This is similar to the case of the Samsung LTE Mobile HotSpot Pro.

Super compact design, mobile app-enabled The new Huawei E5786 is much more portable than the Samsung, however, considering what it has to offer. At just 0.6 inch it's super slim and weighs just 5 ounces. It comes with a small LCD screen to offer an interactive user interface that can monitor SMS messages, data traffic and battery status. You can even monitor the device using a smartphone using the Huawei's mobile app.

The Huawei E5786 supports USB charging and can be charged to full in just three hours. Huawei says it takes just 5 seconds to start up, which is very short compared to some 20 seconds, or even minutes, with other existing MiFis.

The Huawei E5786 comes in black and will be available in the second half of the year.
