Compact cameras? We have compacts. The Fujifilm FinePix Z35, J30 and A170, to be exact.
It's been all about the superzoom today for Fujifilm, with the announcement of the FinePix S200EXR and FinePix F70EXR. Meanwhile, these three new models aren't exciting but they are, well, cheap.
The Z35 is essentially the Z33 you can't take in the bath. It packs a 3x zoom lens, a 69mm (2.7-inch) LCD and face detection. It also has a Blog mode, which scales down the resolution of stills and video so you don't have to think about it, making posts to the Web easier.

As well as the marshmallow pink and white model shown previously, the Fujifilm FinePix Z35 comes in apple green, true blue and quartz black. It's not clear whether the purple model will come to the UK. In the US, where it's called the Z37, the price is $150 (£90).
The A170 is a 12-megapixel bargain-basement snapper, although the Christmas-cracker styling hides decent enough specs: a 3x zoom lens, 69mm LCD, face detection and in-camera panorama stitching. It runs off AA batteries. How credit crunch-friendly the A170 is in pounds has yet to be confirmed, but in dollars it's a mere trifle at $90 (£55).
