Yahoo to feature 38-year 'Saturday Night Live' archive
Still haven't stopped laughing at Amy Poehler's rap with Sarah Palin? Yahoo users will soon be able to watch classic clips from all 38 seasons of SNL, CEO Marissa Mayer announces.
In the mood for a little vintage Chevy Chase, John Belushi, or Will Ferrell? Well, fans of "Saturday Night Live" can head to Yahoo to watch classic clips from the show as well as episodes from the current season.
The 38-year archive of SNL content will be exclusively available to Yahoo users, CEO Marissa Mayer announced in a blog post.
"Blues Brothers, the Coneheads, Church Chat, Wayne's World, Coffee Talk, Pat, the Hanukkah Song -- the list of tremendous clips goes on and on," Mayer wrote. "'Saturday Night Live' has pervaded and defined our culture for decades."
The archives will be available across Yahoo sites starting in September and feature clips from 1975-2013 seasons, select musical performances, behind-the-scenes clips, and some dress rehearsal clips. Yahoo will also offer up full episodes from the current season.
NBC.com already airs some full episodes and clips online for free. Hulu Plus subscribers also currently have access to all 38 seasons of SNL.
Correction, April 25 at 10:47 a.m. PT: An earlier version of this story overstated the extent of the archived "Saturday Night Live" content to which Yahoo will have exclusive access. The story has been updated with the correct information.
