It'll be all white on the night: the Google Nexus 4 is up for pre-order now in white -- if you're a TalkTalk customer, that is.

The pearly white Nexus 4 is available to order with a phone contract, and is expected to arrive on 13 December. Plans start at £30, but you do have to get TalkTalk broadband too -- so you'd better really, really want that snow-white smart phone. Remember, TalkTalk is consistently  named , shamed  and  blamed  by telecoms watchdog Ofcom as the worst Internet service provider , judging by volume of complaints.

Still, you could also get a YouView box for free from TalkTalk . And more importantly, the opportunity to buy a Nexus 4 in any colour is welcome: Google's new flagship phone sold out on Google Play in minutes , and is currently only available at higher prices from other sources -- including from greedy punters hoping to make a killing on eBay .

Fingers crossed the white Nexus 4 will be made available more widely. In fact, fingers crossed any Nexus 4 will be made more widely available.

Packing the latest version of Android -- 4.2 Jelly Bean -- and sporting a gorgeous 4.7-inch screen, the Nexus 4 is one heck of a phone even before you consider the £240 price tag. Press play on our video to see it in action:

As you can see from our mock-up above, we're expecting the Nexus 4 will appear in a casing whiter than the shirts worn by Merseyside's Tranmere Rovers -- currently top of Football League One and boasting the second-best goal difference in the entire football league. And their nickname is the Superwhites, so you can imagine how white this phone is.

What's the best colour for a phone? And can anyone halt the mighty Tranmere's march into the Championship? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook page.
