Strewth! Aussie accent confirmed for Mad Max game
Aussie fans emerge victorious after taking game developer Avalanche Studios to the Thunderdome for plans to give Max an American accent in the game version of the classic Australian film.
One of the surprise announcements of E3 this year was an open-world action adventure game set in the same post-apocalyptic universe of the "Mad Max" film series.
There was just one problem:. Deliberately so.
Tuesday morning, Christofer Sundberg, founder and executive producer of Avalanche Studios, capitulated to the fan outcry. He tweeted:
Attn. fans who want Max to have an Aussie accent in #MadMaxGame : It shall be so. We admire your loyalty. You have been heard.— Christofer Sundberg (@CHSundberg) July 2, 2013
The petition currently has 2,883 signatures -- a small amount in terms of fan base, but obviously a vocal crew when it came to social media.
There's no word on who will voice the iconic role in the upcoming games, so feel free to suggest voice actors in the comments below.
