Spotifans, it's the news you've been waiting for -- mobile phone version of its music-streaming service, and it's certainly the most exciting piece of mobile music software we've seen this year.has demoed the first
The mobile version is shown running on Google's Android platform. In addition to searching and streaming the music Spotify has access to, it allows you to sync your favourite playlists to offline playback. This involves the app downloading the music to your phone (DRMed, one assumes), so you needn't have Internet access to keep playing music.
Additionally, your phone and the computer on which you're logged into Spotify are in sync. So songs dragged into a playlist on your computer instantly appear in the same playlist on your phone.
Spotify's Andres Sehr told CNET UK that although this is a work in progress, it "is a fairly advanced demo, (and) we are working on other mobile devices, including iPhone, which would work in a similar fashion."
