Say, say, Sagem: DTR94250S and DTR94500S freesat PVR

Sagem and Goodmans have both announced new freesat PVRs to drop later this year, hopefully taking advantage of BBC iPlayer's rumoured arrival on the format

Sagem has announced a new freesat digital TV recorder to come in two flavours: the DTR94250S with a 250GB hard drive, and the DTR94500S 500GB.

Looking very similar to current Sagem Freeview PVRs , both versions include twin tuners so you can record two channels, or record one channel while watching back another recording. They include USB and Ethernet ports, which could advantage of iPlayer if, as rumoured, the BBC's online service arrives on freesat later this year.

This pair of PVRs joins the Panasonic DMR-BS850 and DMR-BS750 Blu-ray recorders and Humax Foxsat-HD in the list of freesat devices.

Both models will drop in October 2009. With neat symmetry, the 250GB model will cost £250. The 500GB version will cost £300.

Goodmans are also launching a freesat PVR with twin tuners, in 320GB and 500GB models for £300 and £350. Join Freesat is reporting that rebadged versions of these players are likely to follow under the Grundig and Bush banners.
