Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 drops to £99 on Amazon UK
Samsung's 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 has had £100 lopped off its price on Amazon, and is now just £99.
If you're after a tablet computer for someone special this Christmas, don't want to pay the earth, but are put off by the likes of the supermarket's bargain bin of slate PCs, then Amazon may have just what you're after.

It's the 7-inch version of the Tab 3, and you'll have to have the white one at this price, as the black still costs £35 more. Your ton gets you a 1.2GHz dual-core ARM 7100 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. Though unlike a lot of smaller Android slates, you can bulk that up with a microSD slot of up to an additional 64GB.
The display has a resolution of 1,024x600 pixels -- that's not going to trouble the's 1,920x1,200 jobby, but it should prove adequate for most needs.
The Tab 3 runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, which is looking a little long in the tooth nowadays. It's the Wi-Fi-only variant as well, and has a battery life of around seven hours.
These might not be top-of-the-range specs, but they're pretty great considering the price. £100 will usually get you a slate from the likes of Medion, or the . Not that there's anything wrong with those. They've proved a hit with customers, with the , and to its . It's just I'd rather have the build quality of a big-name brand if I'm shelling out for a tablet. £100 might not be much for a device of this type, but it's a lot of cash if you're left with something that's no fun to use.
