New Yoda voice for its sat-navs, TomTom has

TomTom sat-nav owners will soon have the option of being guided by Star Wars sage Yoda, thanks to a deal struck with LucasFilm and VoiceSkins.com.

The diminutive Jedi master's distinctive vocal stylings will replace the generic voice built into the TomTom, if you like your directions back to front. Every time you pass the speed limit, for example, the mouldy old tyre will say, "Exceed your own limit, you do. Slow down."

Admittedly, you'll have to be familiar with Yoda's ramblings in order to interpret his commands properly. Those who haven't seen Star Wars (all three of you) may have no idea the sentence, "Beware. Eyes everywhere, the Empire has," means you should watch out for speed cameras.

Yoda joins existing Star Wars faves Darth Vader and C-3PO -- Han Solo's voice follows in August. All will be available free to download on the TomTom Go 940, Go 740 and Go 540. To hear Yoda in action for yourself, click play on the video below.
